1 Smart Digital Adapt er Use in conjunction with an XM univ ersal tuner bo x, the XMDGM100 Smart Digital Adapter allo ws you to adapt an existing GM satellite r adio r eady car ster eo t o r eceiv e XM Satellite Radio service. Important Note:: The XMDGM100 can be install ed in vehicl es that hav e adequate GM Class II radios.

Installation The foll owing step-by-step instructions illus trate in detail two typical GM installations. The images on the l eft are f or a typical SUV installation.
4 STEP 3 UNPLUG EXISTING CONNECT ORS AND ANTENNA CABLE AND REMOVE RADIO. INST ALL LARGE AND SMALL CONNECT ORS (REMOVED FROM RADIO) INTO HARNESS (W1) SUPPLIED WITH YOUR KIT STEP 4 INST ALL DIRECT CONNECT ADAPTER BOX (A3) BY INST ALLING WHITE CONNECT OR AS SHOWN.
5 Installation STEP 5 INST ALL RED AND WHITE RCA AUDIO CABLES (W2) AND 8 PIN MINI DIN CABLE (W3) INTO OPPOSITE SIDE OF DIRECT CONNEC T INTERF ACE BOX. STEP 6 FEED OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE RED AND WHITE RCA CABLE (W2) AND THE 8 PIN MINI DIN CABLE (W3) TO THE SELEC TED LOCA TION FOR YOUR XM TUNER (A2).
6 Installation STEP 7 LOC ATE AND MOUNT THE AD APTER BOX (A3) IN SUIT ABLE LOCA TION THA T WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH THE RADIO AND WILL NO T VIBRATE OR RA TTLE AFTER INST ALLA TION. WE LOCA TED THE UNIT IN A SP ACE NEAR THE AIR DUCT AND SECURED IT IN PLACE USING VEL CRO .
7 Installation STEP 9 CAREFULL Y LOCA TE THE RADIO BACK INT O POSITION. MAKE SURE THA T THE HARNESS DOES NOT BL OCK THE RADIO UNIT OR GET CRIMPED BY THE RADIO WHEN INST ALLING.
8 Installation STEP 12 A T THIS POINT OF THE INST ALLA TION THE RED AND WHITE RCA CABLE, THE 8 PIN MINI DIN CABLE AND THE XM ANTENNA CABLE SHOULD ALL BE ROUTED TO THE INTENDED L OCA TION OF THE XM TUNER (A2). CONNECT THESE CABLES T O THE UNIVERSAL TUNNER BO X (A2).
9 Upon c ompl etion of your installation your XM tuner will need to be activated. T une the XM tuner to the Previe w Channel, channel 1 and follow instructions for activ ation. Y ou can also call the toll free XM activ ation number at 1-800-XM-RADIO (967-2346).
