General Description The Telex BTR -24 System is a full duplex ( simult aneous talk and listen), multi-ch annel, wireless inter com system. The system offers a com plete soluti on for up to 10, full duplex use rs per base station, m any m ore if in push-to-tra nsmit m ode.
1. On/Off Switch – Turns the power on/off to t he base stati on. 2. Power / Low Batte ry Light – Indicates the base stati on has power, either from the inter nal battery or external power connected t o the unit. Battery Indicat ion: • GREEN = Battery O K • RED = Battery Low ( » 30 m inutes left ) • No Light = Battery D epleted 3.

Wireless Mode Description The TR-24 has the ability t o be booted in one of thre e modes. These modes are wireless, wired and master wireless. Th is section will discu s the w ireless mode. The wireless m ode is the m ost used m ode of the bel tpack. The wireless m ode is set by holding the <TALK> but ton down as the unit boots.
Set-up Below are i nstructions for the set-up and operati on of a single BTR-24 wit h up to ten TR-24's. 1. Prior to use t he TR-24 and BTR-24 should have their bat tery packs fully charged . Refer to the “Battery Charging Instructions” ne ar the end of this s ection.

Up to ten bel tpacks, in full duplex ( simult aneous talk and li sten), may comm unicate with each other o ver a Ethernet netwo rk. In fact do to the f lexibility of th e BTR-2 4 system, wired beltpacks connected vi a a hub to a network coul d communica te to a BT R-24 connected t o the same net work.

2. Plug the m aster TR-24’s ext ernal power supply i nto an AC outlet i f desired. If external pow er is not desire d then run off internal battery. 3. Place the TR-2 4’s in a lo cation wh ere it will hav e the best visibility to the o ther TR-2 4s.

Encryption Code The BTR/TR-2 4 system uses a 64 b it DES (Dig ital Encryptio n Standard) encrypt ion algorit hm to encrypt all audio in the s ystem . The beltpacks in the system have a “key” that th e algorith m uses as the basis for t he encrypt ion.
10. Plug the othe r end of the Ethernet cable into the be ltpack. 11. Type, telnet 192.168.1.X at the com puter’s com mand prompt, then p ress <ENT ER>. Fill in f or X th e last digit of the IP address t hat is on the back l abel on the TR-24.
Battery Care To ensure the long l ife and safe handl ing of the Li-Ion bat tery within the BT R-24 and TR-24 pleas e following the f ollowing precautions: 1. Store the TR-24s a nd BTR-24 in a cle an, cool, dry l ocation away from heat. 2. Do not store for extende d periods of ti me in direct sunlight.

802.11 RF Channels The BTR-24 syst em has t he ability to operate on any one of eleven RF channels. Althoug h there are several d ifferent frequency cha nnel settings, t here is overlap bet ween the channels. T here are three non-overla pping channels avai lable in the FCC regul atory dom ain.
Regulatory I nformation The TR-24 and BTR -24 comply with Part 15 of FCC rules and Canada RSS-210 . Operation is s ubject to the fol lowing conditions: 1.
