5 GET TING ST ARTED ST ANDBY CONTROL T o turn the radio on: Press the • ST ANDBY/ON button. The Standby indicator will switch o , the display will brighten and the radio will swit ch on. T o set the radio to standby: Press the • ST ANDBY/ON button.
6 DISPLAY MODE OPTIONS The bottom line of the display can be switched to show dierent items of information that may be transmitted with a DAB sta tion. Choosing the information display : Press the MENU/INFO button repeatedly to change the information display ed while playing a D AB radio station.
7 LISTENING T O FM RADIO SOUND SOURCES Y ou can choose to listen to the following sour ces - DAB radio • FM radio • iPod (when dock ed) • Selec ting a source: Press the • FUNCTION button repeatedly to scroll through the available sour ces.
8 ST A TION PRESE TS DAB and F M presets Y our radio can store up t o 10 of your fav ourite stations as presets on both the D AB and FM bands for quick recall . T o store any preset 1-10 T une to the station you wan t to stor e as a preset. Press the • PRESET button.
9 iP od ADAPT ORS FINDING AN ADAPT OR Before dock ing your iPod y ou must rst check if y our iP od has a docking connector . Early iP od models and iPod shue do not hav e one and cannot be docked t o your unit . T he docking connector is located on the base of the iP od as shown below .
10 USING THE AL ARMS SETTING THE ALARMS Y ou can set two completely separate alarm times (ALARM 1 and ALARM 2) and ac tivate either or both of them to wake you with a buzzer , radio, or music fr om a docked iPod. Changing Alarm 1 settings: Press the • AL.
11 ADV ANCED OPER A TION DAB MANUAL TUNING For most users, tuning to D AB stations via the DAB station list is recommended. For advanced users it is also possible to manually tune to a station. T o tune manually: Press and hold the • SELECT button until the displa y shows ‘Manual tune’ .
12 SLEEP FUNCTION SLEEP TIMER Y ou can set the Sleep timer to play music for a set period while you are falling asleep . T o set the sleep timer: Play your choic e of music. • Press the • SLEEP/CL OCK button repeatedly to set the sleep time you want in 10 minute intervals from a maximum of 90 minutes down to 10 minutes.
