9 EN EN Recor ding functions T aking a br eak (Time Shift function) Y our recor der can sa ve in its memor y images of the last 60 or 120 minutes of the pr ogrammes view ed. Use the scroll k eys ( P AUSE , PLA Y , REV G / F ... ) to use this function.

Recor ding functions 11 Pr ogramming a r ecording or a transfer Y our D VD recorder lets y ou program recor dings or transfers. Programming se veral recordings is really useful when it uses the high ca pacity of the hard disc , thereby enabling y ou to go beyond the limited capacities of D VD R/R W discs.
12 Recor ding functions VPS/PDC - If the channel broadcasts the VPS/PDC signals, activate the VPS/PDC function to start the recording at the time when the pr ogramme actually star ts. 13 Automatic pro gramming (Naviclick) Y our D VD recorder off ers you a TV programming guide f or cer tain channels. The information it pro vides you comes fr om the T eletext log and the NexTView service broadcast for certain channels. The updating of Naviclick inf ormation is carried out once ev er y 24 hours.
14 Recor ding functions Librar y The librar y lets you locate the various r ecordings present on the D VR hard disc or the differ ent D VD R/R W discs in your D VD librar y . The librar y groups together the recor ding names and parameters and lets you look for them using the sear ch functions.
15 EN EN Recor ding functions Disc Librar y (D VD) The (disc) librar y brings together the names of all the titles recor ded to the different D VD R/R W discs in your D VD collection. Note: if a disc appear s in front of the name of a title it means that the disc is loaded in your D VD recorder .
16 Pla ying a disc Readable discs • D VD - Video - 12 cm and 8 cm, single or double sided, single or dual la yer . D VDs are high density optical discs on which high quality pictur e and audio are r ecorded by means of digital signals. Region code number - Y our D VD recorder r esponds to the regional management information recor ded on DVDs.
17 EN EN Pla ying a disc Interactive banners In addition to menus, your D VD recorder has interactive inf ormation banners with icons repr esenting functions or information. Some banners pro vide access to disc pla yback functions (for D VDs, CDs, VCDs, etc.

19 EN EN Pla ying a disc Pla ying discs – Displa ying the information banner T o access the information banner , press INFO on your r emote control unit during pla yback . Use the arr ow k eys C and B on the remote contr ol unit to select the various icons.
20 Pla ying a disc Subtitle and dialogue langua ge Select the subtitle or dialogue language if they ar e a vailable on the disc . The name of the language selected appears under the banner . Note: selecting the language of subtitles only involves the disc being played.
21 EN EN Pla ying a disc Camera angles A few D VD discs contain scenes shot from various differ ent angles. If a disc being pla yed back offers differ ent camera angles the icon in the banner will show the number of the angle on the scr een.
22 Pla ying a disc Edit menu (D VD R W disc and D VR hard disc) The edit menu can be accessed fr om the information banner while y ou are pla ying a title on a DVD R/R W disc or on the internal D VR. Access to the edit menu 1. D VD R/R W Disc in pla yback, INFO then OK .
23 EN EN Pla ying a disc Pla ying image and audio (JPEG, mp3, wma) Y our pla yer can pla y JPEG files with a resolution of up to five million pix els. Howe ver beyond 400,000 pix els there is no per ceptible improv ement in the quality of pictures displa yed on y our TV screen.
24 Pla ying a disc T o r ent (purchase) DivX ® V OD files DivX VOD files ar e comparable to rental video D VD discs. They both allow y ou to view the video (film). The difference lies in the access to the media. DivX V OD files are downloaded after pa ying a rental fr om cer tain commercial Internet sites.
25 Menus EN EN Disc menu The Disc menu is only accessible if a disc is inserted in your D VD recorder . This menu allows access to the list of titles of the Disc Title Men u or the images menu of the Pla yer Menu f or your r ecorded discs (D VD R/R W).

30 Menus D VD disc subtitles Certain discs propose sev eral languages for subtitles. The default language is the one you selected during installation if this language is offered on the disc being pla yed.
