2 Connections and initial set up Pr ecautions and inf ormation before connecting • Ensure that the mains suppl y in your house complies with that indicated on the identification stick er located at the back of your de vice.
Connections and initial set up 3 EN EN 1. Unplug the antenna cable fr om y our TV set and plug it into the ANTENNA-CABLE IN sock et of your DTH 8005. 2. Using the coaxial cable supplied, connect the ANTENNA-CABLE OUT sock et of the DTH 8005 to the g antenna sock et of your TV set.

Thanks to its tuner you can watch and recor d TV pr ogammes on D VD+R and D VD+R W discs. It can pla y the majority of 8 cm and 12 cm discs, with the exception of D VD Rom, D VD Ram, and D VD audio.

Connections and initial set up 8 Channel update If new channels mak e their way into the audio visual scene, you will ha ve to update your DTH 8005’ s list of channels. In such a case, star t a new channel sear ch from the installation menu. This set-up deletes all stored channels and r esets all the channels that your DTH 8005 can receiv e .

Depending on the sock ets a vailable on your other devices or to benefit fr om the maximum performance of your DTH 8005 y ou may mak e other connections.

16 Remote contr ol The remote contr ol handset supplied with your DTH 8005 is a 3 in 1 type remote contr ol. It allows 3 devices to be contr olled: your DTH 8005, a tele vision set and a satellite or cable receiv er . Thus you ha v e r emote control of all these de vices by using the 3 modes: D VD , TV or SA T .

Recor ding functions 26 Librar y Y ou can easily find the contents of y our DVD+R or D VD+R W discs thanks to the librar y function of your DTH 8005. With each video recording the DTH 8005 places in memory the name of the disc and the recor ding parameters.
Recor ding functions 27 EN EN Sor t by Title This is an alphabetic sorting. The titles beginning with punctuation signs are listed first, follow ed by those with digits and then those with letters, beginning with the letter . Note: sor ting by title displays a character chart.
Recor ding functions 28 Assign or Change the Category of a title This function allows y ou to allocate a title (or to change it) to a category in the list pr oposed by the DTH 8005. Select Chang e Genre and pr ess OK . • Select the category using the or key and confirm with OK .
29 Pla ying a disc EN EN Discs y ou can r ecord • D VD+R, D VD+R W - Most D VD+R discs (recor dable once) and DVD+R W discs (re-r ecordable) of 4.7 Gb capacity . Recommended discs : The following list includes compatible brands of discs that ha ve been tested with y our DTH 8005.

It allows you to edit the r ecordings made and more particularly to: • Insert chapter bookmarks (D VD+R W) T o position marks in order to easily find y our fa vourite passages.

42 Menus Disc menu The Disc menu is only accessible if a disc is inserted in your DTH 8005. This menu allows access to the list of titles of the Disc Title Menu or the images menu of the Pla y er Menu f or your recor ded discs (D VD+R, +R W).

Menus 48 Subtitles (Languag e of D VD subtitles) Certain discs pr opose sev eral languages for subtitles. The default language is the the one you selected during installation (page 5) if this language is also offer ed on the disc being play ed.
