ENGLISH Rechargeable Batteries 5 The R-1 uses a Nickel-Metal-Hydride battery pack stored in the battery compartment. Leaving the AC adaptor connected to the R- 1 and plugged in AC line, even when not in use, ensures the batteries will be fully charged when you need to use the R-1 on battery power.
6 Connection AC outlet C D A B E 12V CAUTION < Switch off the power before making connections. < Read the instructions of each component you intend to use with this unit. < Be sure to insert each plug securely. To prevent hum and noise, do not bundle the connection cords.
ENGLISH 7 FM T elescopic Antenna Stretch the telescopic antenna to it's fullest length and rotate it to the direction that gives the best reception. FM Antenna You can connect the provided lead-type FM antenna to the terminal. While in FM mode, tune in an FM station and extend the lead to find a position for the best reception.

9 Listening to the Radio ENGLISH 2 1 4 3 Turn the FUNCTION knob to select FM or AM. 2 Turn the TUNING knob to tune in a station. 3 Gradually turn up the volume to the required level by turning the VOLUME knob. 4 To prevent a sudden high-level noise, turn the VOLUME knob counter- clockwise to minimize the volume.
10 Listening to FM Ster eo Listening to an Exter nal Sour ce Connect the PHONES jack (audio output jack) of a portable audio player to the AUX IN jack of the R-1 using the supplied stereo mini plug cable. 2 Play the source, and adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob of the R-1 and the audio player.

Pour que le R-1 fontionne à piles, brancher l'adaptateur CA sur le R-1 et laisser l'adaptateur branché sur la prise secteur jusqu'à ce que les piles soient entièrement chargées.
