ENGLISH Rechargeable Batteries 5 The R-1 uses a Nickel-Metal-Hydride battery pack stored in the battery compartment. Leaving the AC adaptor connected to the R- 1 and plugged in AC line, even when not in use, ensures the batteries will be fully charged when you need to use the R-1 on battery power.
6 Connection AC outlet C D A B E 12V CAUTION < Switch off the power before making connections. < Read the instructions of each component you intend to use with this unit. < Be sure to insert each plug securely. To prevent hum and noise, do not bundle the connection cords.
ENGLISH 7 FM T elescopic Antenna Stretch the telescopic antenna to it's fullest length and rotate it to the direction that gives the best reception. FM Antenna You can connect the provided lead-type FM antenna to the terminal. While in FM mode, tune in an FM station and extend the lead to find a position for the best reception.
8 Names of Each Contr ol BASS knob Turn this knob to adjust the bass level. TREBLE knob Turn this knob to adjust the treble level. VOLUME knob Turn this knob to adjust the volume. TUNING knob Turn this knob to tune in a station. In FM mode upper tuning indicator pointing to FM frequency lights.
9 Listening to the Radio ENGLISH 2 1 4 3 Turn the FUNCTION knob to select FM or AM. 2 Turn the TUNING knob to tune in a station. 3 Gradually turn up the volume to the required level by turning the VOLUME knob. 4 To prevent a sudden high-level noise, turn the VOLUME knob counter- clockwise to minimize the volume.
10 Listening to FM Ster eo Listening to an Exter nal Sour ce Connect the PHONES jack (audio output jack) of a portable audio player to the AUX IN jack of the R-1 using the supplied stereo mini plug cable. 2 Play the source, and adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob of the R-1 and the audio player.

Pour que le R-1 fontionne à piles, brancher l'adaptateur CA sur le R-1 et laisser l'adaptateur branché sur la prise secteur jusqu'à ce que les piles soient entièrement chargées.

Antena FM Usted puede conectar la antena FM tipo guía suministrada en esta toma. En el modo de FM, sintonice une emisora FM y extiende la guía a fin de encontrar una posición para la mejor recepción.

26 Cómo escuchar FM estér eo Cómo escuchar Fuente exter na Conecte la toma PHONES (salida de audio) del reproductor de audio portátil a la toma AUX IN de la R-1 con el cable con tapón mini suministrado. 2 Activa la reproducción de la fuente y ajuste el volumen con la perilla VOLUME de la R-1 y del reproductor de audio.
