6 USING Y OUR MUL TI TIER FOOD & WHOLE GRAIN STEAMER BEFORE FIRST USE • Mak e sure the v oltage in y our outlet is the same as the v oltage indicated on the appliance . This appliance is for 120 –V olt A C electr ical outlet only . • Remo v e any bags, labels or stickers fr om the appliance.
7 COOKING T o Use the Low er Steaming Bo wl • Place the lo w er steaming bowl on the juice collector . • Clean and prepar e y our food. • Place v egetables, seafood or other food without sauce or liquid into the steaming bo wl. Arrange food in the center of the bowl.
8 Using the Rice Bo wl • Place r ice or other foods with sauce or liquid in the r ice bo wl. Place the r ice bo wl in the lo wer steaming bo wl and co v er with the lid. • Plug the appliance in. • Set the timer for the recommended cooking time .
9 T ABLE OF COOKING TIMES Cooking Rice Different types of r ice requir e differ ent cooking directions. Please follo w specific directions for the v ar iety used. • Measure r ice and w ater then COMBINE them in the r ice bo wl. • Fill w ater tank with w ater to specified amount.
10 COOKING SEAFOOD Steaming times listed in the char t belo w ar e appro ximate . Most fish and seafood cook v er y quickly . • Steam in small por tions or in amounts specified. • Clams, Mussels, and Oysters may open at differ ent times; check the shells to a v oid o v ercooking.
11 COOKING VEGET ABLES Clean the v egetables thor oughly . Cut off stems; tr im, peel or chop if necessar y . Smaller pieces will steam f aster than larger pieces. For softer v egetable textur e, in- crease steaming time , for fir mer texture , decrease steaming time accor ding to taste .
12 • Quantity , quality , freshness, size and consistent temperature of fr ozen food ma y affect steam timing. Adjust w ater amount and cooking time as desired. • Fr ozen v egetables should not be tha wed befor e steaming. • Some fr ozen v egetables will pr oduce better results if placed in the r ice bowl dur ing steaming.

14 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE After each use and before cleaning, unplug the appliance from outlet and allo w the steamer to cool. Do not attempt to clean the unit while still hot. • CA UTION: NEVER IMMERSE THE BASE UNIT , CORD OR PLUG IN W A TER OR O THER LIQ UID • Once cooled, empty the juice collector and the water tank.
• P our a solution of 64 ounces of cold water and 4 ounces of clear vinegar to the max fill lev el. DO NOT use the steam element co v er , lid, bowls or juice collector dur ing this process. • Heat unco v ered. • Inser t the plug into outlet and set the timer to 20 minutes.
