2 Battery Installation 1. This scale operates on 3 “AAA” batteries (included). Always replace all batteries at the same time; do not combine old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
3 Tare Operation (Cont.) 4. The weight of additional ingredients may be tared out as well. For example, if a recipe calls for ½ lb rice and ½ lb beans, place the rice into the bowl. Once the correct amount of rice is weighed, press the “ON/OFF/TARE” button.

5 Opération de Tarage (cont) 4. Le poids de tout ingrédient supplémentaire sera aussi taré. Par exemple, si une recette demande 227 g ou 1/2 lb de riz et 227 g ou 1/2 lb de haricots, placez le riz dans le bol. Lorsque la bonne quanti- té de riz est pesée, appuyez sur le bouton « ON/OFF/TARE ».
