6 TASCAM CC-222MKII Owner ’s Manual 1 – Introduction The CC-222MKII provides you with an adv anced system for the recording an d playback of digital compact discs and analog cassettes, providing easy duplication facilities in both directions, and combin- ing the most adv anced technology in both f ields.

3 – Cassette operations—Recording tapes from the PHONO deck 18 TASCAM CC-222 MKII Owner’ s Manual The dubbing stops when playback reaches the end of the CD, or when the tape reaches the end of its run (one side in the case of single-sided ( u ) re verse mode, both sides in the j reverse mode), which- e v er comes f irst.

Press ST OP (cassette deck) to stop the recording . The ST OP key is the only key which is enabled during phono r ecording.

TASCAM CC-222MKII Owner’s Man ual 21 4 – CD player The CC-222MKII can be used to play back CDs (including CD-R and CD-R W discs that ha ve been recorded and finalized on ot her types of recorder), as well as CD-R discs a nd CD-R W discs that hav e been recorded on the unit.
4 – CD player—Playback modes 22 TASCAM CC-222 MKII Owner’ s Manual 2 T o play a track whose number is high er than 9, press the +10 key an appr opriate number of times to set the “ten s” digit of the track number , followed b y a single key to set the “units” digit.
4 – CD player—Repeat play TASCAM CC-222M KII Owner’s Manu al 23 Clear the program by pressing PLA Y MODE until the display sho ws Continue . The program is also cleared when the disc tray is opened, and if the ST OP key is pressed when playback is stopped in pro- grammed order mode.
4 – CD player—Auto spacing 24 TASCAM CC-222 MKII Owner’ s Manual Auto spacing This function inserts a gap of about fo ur seconds between tracks on playba ck. This can be useful w hen recording to tape, so that automatic searching can take place more easily on tapes recorded from disc (see “Search keys” on page 20).
TASCAM CC-222MKII Owner’s Man ual 25 5 – Recording CDs Before you start recordin g using the CC-222MKII, make sure that yo u understand the follo wing ke y points: • Once you ha ve recorded on a CD-R disc, the data cannot be erased from it. • Y ou can add tracks to an unfin alized recordable disc.

TASCAM CC-222MKII Owner’s Man ual 33 6 – After recording This section deals with the actions taken after record- ing: finalizing for CD-R and CD-R W discs, and erase operations for CD-R W discs. Once finalized, CD -R discs a re truly final—no m ore can be recorded on them.
6 – After recording—Erasing 34 TASCAM CC-222 MKII Owner’ s Manual 1 With the disc loaded, and the unit in stop mode, press the ERASE key . 2 If the display does not show E RASE XX- XX? , where XX is the number of the last track r ecorded on the disc, turn the MUL TI DIAL or use the SKIP keys until it is displayed.

Y ou should note that sometimes the timer shown on the display is not always an accurate indi- cator of the time rema ining bef ore the opera- tion is complete.
