General information 1 General informa tion About the IP G atewa y (IP GW ) The IP GW is a voice and video gate wa y that allows call s to be made betw een pair s of IP endpoints that canno t nor mall y connect dire ctl y to each other . A second Ether net por t allows fo r connections betw een tw o completely independent netw orks of endpoints .

4 Co nnecting the IP GW Before you star t Step one: Connect power Connect the po w er connector on the rear of the unit to the pow er supply using the supplied po wer ca ble .
Initial configuration 5 Initial configur ation Step one: Connect to the console port 1 Ensure po wer is connected to the IP GW and the Status LED is green. 2 Connect the console por t of the IP GW to the ser ial por t of your PC using the blue RJ45 to DB9 cab le supplied.
6 Step three: Assign an IP address to P or t A The default setting for the IP GW is to use DHCP to obtain an IP address for P or t A. Y ou can assign a static IP address if you pr efer or if a DHCP ser ver is not a vailab le. If you want the IP addr ess of the IP GW to be ass igned by y our DHCP ser ver , omit this step .

T o log in to the w eb interface of the IP GW: 1 Use your bro wser to naviga te to the IP address of the IP GW (to disco ver the IP address, r efer to the pre vious section).

This section describes how to upgrade the IP GW using the w eb interface . Note that you can also upgrade the IP GW using FTP; this can be more reliab le if you are upgrading the device remotely .
