D500-0 7-00 2 I56-432-1 1R The DH500A CDCs ar e built to operate on 120/240 V A C or 24 V A C/DC. T wo form-C (SPD T) relay contacts are av ail- able for control purposes. T wo LEDs on each detector latch on to pro vide a local alarm indication. R emote alarm indi- cation is made possible b y using the auxiliary alarm output (see Figur e 5).
D500-0 7-00 3 I56-432-1 1R Exception: Where it is physically impossible to locate the detector accordingly , the detector can be positioned closer than six duct widths , but as far as possible from the open- ing, bend, or deflection plates. Step 3. Mount Duct Housing R emov e the duct housing cover .
A. Installation for Ducts Less Than 8 Feet Wide 1. If the inlet tube is longer than the width of the air duct, drill a 3/4-inch hole in the duct directly opposite the hole alr eady cut for the inlet tube. If the inlet tube is shorter than the width of the air duct, install the end cap into the inlet tube as shown in Figure 3.
av ailable at most plumbing supply houses, may be used. This flange/connector mounting technique makes the initial installation easier because a 1- inch to 1-1/4-inch hole may be drilled where the flange/connector will be used. It is easier to push the inlet tube through the lar ger hole .

Step 7. Per form Detector Check 7.1 Air Flow 1. T o verify sufficient sampling of ducted air , use a manom- eter to measure the differential pr essure created from air flo w acr oss the sampling tubes. The pr essure should measure no less than 0.0 1 inches of w ater and no greater than 1.
Step 8. Install the Cover Install the cover using the four scre ws . Be certain filters are installed as specified in Step 6. Make sure that the cover fits into the base gr oove and that all gaskets ar e in their proper positions. Tighten the four cov er scre ws to 1 0 in-lbs .
1. T urn off power to the system. 2. R emove and inspect sampling tube filter s. 3. If filters ar e heavily coated with dirt, r eplace them with new filter s. If they ar e not heavily coated, use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air nozzle to remo ve dust, then install the filters .
