If you connect component output jac ks to COMPONENT1 input jack, connect an audio cable to A UDIO L/R jacks of COMPONENT1.
11 EN PREP ARA TION FOR USE [ANALOG A UDIO/VIDEO CONNECTION] 1) This is the general method to connect this TV to video devices with the video and audio output jac ks, such as VCR, Camcorder , Video Game, etc. When the audio jack of video de vices is monaural, connect this TV to the AUDIO L jac k.

13 EN INITIAL SETTINGS / CHANNEL SETTINGS 3 F or TV channels, using [ K / L ] , select “Air”. F or CA TV channels, select “Cable”. • Press [ENTER] . Scanning and memorizing the channels auto- matically star ts. • When the scanning and memor izing are com- pleted, the lowest memorized channel in the broadcasting will be displa yed.
14 EN CHANNEL LIST The Channel List function lets you skip the unnec- essar y channels from the Channel registr ation list. 1 Displa y the setup screen. • Press [SETUP] . The f ollowing setup screen is displa yed. 2 Select “CHANNEL ” and press [ENTER] to con- firm.

18 EN CHANNEL SELECTION Y ou can select the channel by using either [CH K / L ] or Channel n umber b uttons . How to select the channel in each wa y is shown below . 1 Using [CH K / L ] , or Channel number b uttons and pressing [ENTER] . • Using [CH K / L ] , change the channel.
19 WA T CHING TV EN STILL MODE Y ou can freeze the image sho wn on the screen. 1 P ause the image. • When you press [STILL] , the image shown on the screen is paused. • The audio is not paused and keeps on reading out. • If the digital signal is gone or protected, the image will remain paused and the audio will be mut ed.
20 EN SWIT CHING EX TERNAL INPUT When you connect e xter nal de vices including a D VD pla yer and home audio system, y ou can easily s witch the input mode with the remote control. 1 Switch the input mode. • When you press [INPUT SELECT] or [CH K / L ] on the remote control, the input mode will be s witched as below .
21 EN WA T CHING TV CHANGING THE SCREEN DISPLA Y MODE Each 4 types of displa y mode can be selected in the screen mode in both 4:3 and 16:9 TV aspect ratio . Y ou can select y our fa vorite screen mode and enjoy the program. 1 Switch the Screen mode. • Every time you press [SCREEN MODE] , the TV aspect ratio will be s witched alter nately .
22 EN SCREEN INFORMA TION Y ou can displa y the currently selected channel n umber or other inf or mation such as the audio mode on the screen f or checking. In the analog mode, the currently selected channel n umber and the audio mode are displa yed.

24 EN PICTURE ADJUSTMENT Y ou can enjo y your fa vorite picture mode selecting from five picture def ault settings that will adjust col- ors to enhance your vie wing experience. Also , the brightness, contrast, color , tint, shar pness color temperature, and energy sa ving setting can be changed.
25 EN OPTIONAL SETTINGS CL OSED CAPTION Y ou can vie w specially labeled (cc) TV programs, movies , news and prerecorded tapes, etc. with either a dialogue caption or te xt display added to the program. Y ou can also change the f ont size and the font style by selecting options in the “Con ventional CC”.
26 EN DT V CL OSED CAPTION Apar t from closed captions, DTV has its o wn closed captions called DTV CC . Use this menu to change the settings f or DTV CC. 1 Displa y the setup screen. • Press [SETUP] . The f ollowing setup screen is displa yed. 2 Select “DET AIL ” and press [ENTER] to confirm.

28 EN V-CHIP Y ou can set the vie wing limitations to prev ent your children from watching inappropriate programs including disagreeab le expression and description. The viewing limitations set f or the program can be released by entering the pass word.
