26 Information on D VD recording Recording Information This unit can recor d to D VD-R and D VD-R W discs. When recor ding, you will need to select a r ecording fo rmat between Video mode and VR mode depend- ing on the disc format. The disc format for D VD-R is alwa ys “Video format, ” so a recording format will be “Video mode”.

Choosing the recor ding f ormat of a blank disc 28 Fo rmatting a disc Recording When inserting a blank disc , the unit starts to initialize the blank disc. After that, Y ou can record to the disc with the recor ding format selected in SETUP menu. Y ou are allow ed to set a specified time for chapter marks.

34 Timer r ecording Recording Y ou can program the unit to r ecord up to 8 programs, up to a year in advance. Daily or weekly pr ogram r ecordings ar e also a vailable. • Be sure to set the clock bef ore making a timer programming. • Insert a recordable disc or a tape with a safety tab .
