If the mother board you purch ased did not include a standard I/ O shield, contact the motherb oard vendor for a compatible shield.

If you need to install fans continue to the Systems Fan section of this chapter. If the chassis will be installed into a rack, continue to the next chapter for rack installation instructions.
SC213 Chassis Manual 4-16 Three heavy duty fans p rovide cooli ng for the c hassis. These fans circulate air through the chassis as a means of lowering the chassis internal temperature. The SC213 fans are hot-swappable, enabling the fans to be re placed without powering -down the system.

In ord er to change ju mper settings o n the backplane, it may be necessary to remove the backplane from the chassis.

5-3 Chapter 5 Rack Installation Always keep the rack's front door and all panels and components on the servers • closed when not servicing to maintain pr oper cooling.

There are a variety of rack units on the market, which may mean tha t the assem bly procedure will differ slig htly from th e instructions provided.

The SC213 comes equipped with quick-release outer rails which allow the cha ssis to be easily extended or removed from the rack. Identifying the Outer Rails Identify the two outer rack rails.
