1 CHAPTER 1 T ray Overviews The Sun StorageT ek 2540 Array , the Sun StorageT ek 2530 Array , and the Sun StorageT ek 2501 Array are a family of storage products that provide high-capacity , high-reliability storage in a compact configuration. 23 CHAPTER 2 Installing T rays Use the procedur es in this chapter to install trays in a cabinet. The number of trays you need to install depends on your overall storage r equirements. Y ou can install a maximum of three trays, one contr oller tray and up to two expansion trays for each array .

Chapter 2 Installing T ra ys 39 FIGURE 2-13 Array Controller T ray Installed The tray has mounting flanges on both sides with three mounting holes in them. The top and bottom holes are lar ge enough to fit over the heads of the screws alr eady in the cabinet rails used to mount the universal rails.

V erify that the circuit breakers in the cabinet are turned off. 3. Connect each power supply in the tray to a separate power source in the cabinet.
Chapter 2 Installing T ra ys 43 Note – Perform all SAS connections from an Out (down arr ow) port to an In (up arrow) port. If the cable is connected to two connectors with the same arrows, communication between the two drive modules will be lost.
