3 UNP A CKING & INSPECTION Before proc eeding with instal lation of y our St erilight Unit, plea se carefully unpac k and ins pec t it. Figure 1 i llustrat es all the major componen ts of the system, sho wn with the standar d faucet div er ter (your uni t may vary slightly fr om photo) .

The Sterilight unit generates o zone from surrounding air . Locate the unit in an area where the air is breathable and free from dust or fumes.
6 OPERA TION Prior to drinking water from the unit , ush unit for v e minutes. T o o perate t he unit, sim ply turn on the c old water fauc et and pull the diverter valv e plunger outward ( Figur e 1 1). T o bypass t he unit, pus h the div er ter valv e inwar d.
7 PLEASE NO TE THE FOLL OWING 1 . The Sterilight unit is N OT designed to ope rate with hot water . Run only cool t ap water through t he unit . 2. The ultra violet lamp in the un it has a useful l ife of 1 0,000 on - of f c ycles or more. One cycle c ould be a small cu p of water or a l arge pit cher .
8 For the lt er to be removed , the lt er element must be saturated with wat er and all internal seals must be wet. DO NO T A TTEMPT TO REMO VE A FIL TER ELEMENT THA T IS NO T WET . Doing so may result in breakage of the glass sleeve or lamp , and c ould result in personal injury.

10 It is EXTREMEL Y IMPORT ANT that the unit be unplugged before ser vicing. The Sterilight Point-of-use unit contains a high int ensity ultraviolet lamp that can damage tissues in the eye . The UV wavelengths c annot travel through the plastic housing.
