This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to complete, verify, and perform ActiveSync®. This guide will help you install the P ocket PC Desktop Softwar e on your Windo ws operating system, and synchr onize y our Sprint PCS V ision Smart Device for the fir st time.
Step 1 Insert the Installation CD into your PC's CD-ROM drive. When you insert the PPC-6700's Installation CD: The Setup prog ram should launc h automaticall y . If auto-r un is not enabled on the PC, you can man ually launch the Setup pr og ram by doing the f ollowing: 1.
Step 2 Install Microsoft® ActiveSync®. On the W elcome screen, clic k Next to start installing Microsoft ® Activ eSync ® on y our PC. This is r equired to synchr onize y our Sprint PCS V ision Smart Device with the PC. Click Next again to launc h the ActiveSync Setup W izar d, which will guide y ou thr ough the setup prog ress.
Step 3 Restart Your Computer. After the softwar e has been completel y installed, restar t your PC. When y our PC boots up, verify that the ActiveSync icon appear s in the Notification area of y our Desktop (the low er right cor ner of your Desktop scr een).
Step 4 More features on the Installation CD. After installing ActiveSync, y ou can e xplore the f ollowing f eatures on the Installation CD: Repair or install critical programs Click to r epair or install Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Activ eSync.
Step 5 Connect the USB Cradle to your PC. Y our PPC-6700 comes with a USB cradle, which allo ws you to connect to an a vailable USB por t on y our desktop PC to r un Activ eSync, and to rec harg e y our device with the supplied A C adapter .
Step 6 Insert Your Device into the USB Cradle and Run ActiveSync®. W ith the USB cradle attac hed to PC, inser t your PPC-6700 into the slot on the front of the cr adle . Then, follo w the prompts to select your partner ship settings, synchronization method, and sync hronization settings.
Helpful Hints If you ar e having difficulties with the software installation, please ref er to the W ebsite: www.sprintpcs.com . Never start an ActiveSync oper ation while your system is booting up.
