5 In st al la ti on n Installation SELECTING A LOCA TION You can place the phone on a desk top or t ab le, mount it on a standard wal l plate, or mount it directly on the wall.
6 In st al la ti on MOUNTING THE BASE ON A W ALL Note: To mou nt the base directly on t he wall, you need two screws (not supplied) wi th heads th at fit i nto the keyhol e slots on the bottom of the base. Drill two holes 3 15 / 16 i nches (100 mm) apart, one above the other.
7 Preparation Note: You can place the handset on the base faceup or facedown. Recha rge the bat tery pack when: the LOW BAT T indicator on t he handset flashes, the phone beeps four tim es w hen you press PHONE , the L OW BATT indicator is on when the phone is off, or the phone doe s no t operate when y ou pres s PHONE .

12 T elep hon e Op eration Notes: ² The redial memory holds up to 1 6 digits, so you can redial long-distance as well as local numbers. ² We rec ommend you not use REDIAL to dial numbers that include a tone entry . T his could result in a wrong numb er being dialed.

17 T AD Operation To replay part of a message during playback , hold down REPEA T t hen release to resume playbac k. To return to a previous message, hold down REPEAT unt il you see the desired message number. To skip to the next message, press SKIP .
