CAUTION RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. WARNING: To prevent fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
Once you have assembled the speakers they are ready for connection to the audio system (or video system), and to the mains (see assembly instructions on the enclosed instruction sheet). Make sure that you have mounted the proper feet on the base: rounded feet for wooden/ parquet floors, or other types of bare floors; spikes for carpeted floors.
Press gently on the black lid (where it is marked PUSH) on the back of the cone to tip out the socket panel. The mains socket and the 8-pin Power Link socket are now accessible. Connect the BeoLab 8000 and the audio system (or video system) using the enclosed 8- pin Power Link cable.
The rubber tube packed with the speaker is a cable cover specially designed for the BeoLab 8000. Run the mains lead and the Power Link cable in the grooves inside the tube so that only one (thick) cable seems to be coming out from each speaker.
The moment you connect the speaker to the mains, a tiny red light appears immediately above the con, behind the cloth, indicating the speaker is on stand-by. When you switch on your Bang & Olufsen system, the BeoLab 8000 speakers switch on simultaneously.
Maintenance Clean the BeoLab 8000 speakers using a soft, firmly wrung lint-free cloth which you have dipped in a solution of lukewarm water containing a few drops of mild detergent, e.g. a dish washing liquid. We recommend that you remove any dust on the black base using a soft brush before you clean it with a sponge.
