Preparation Supplied Acc essories / Installing the Printer 7 Preparation Supplied Accessories Make certain you ha v e recei ved the follo wing accessories. Caution The UP-GR700 is very hea vy . The printer should be carried by tw o persons. Be careful when taking the printer out the sh ipping box.

Operat ion Loading the P aper Roll and I nk Ribbon 9 Operation Loading the P aper Roll and Ink Ribbon Recommended printing pack The follo wing printing pack is made especially for the UP-GR700. Be sure to use the ink ribbo n and the paper roll in the carton as a set.
Operat ion Loading the P a per Roll and Ink Rib bon 10 1 Pull the lock lever for the front door up to open the front door . If you release the le v er after pulling it up, the front door will come forward and ope n automatically . Note The front door is heavy .
Operat ion Loading the P aper Roll and I nk Ribbon 11 3 T ake out the paper core shaft stored inside the printer . 4 Remov e the left plate of the paper core shaft as illustrated. 5 Insert the shaft attached t o the right plate of t he paper core shaft in to the center of t he paper roll.
Operat ion Loading the P a per Roll and Ink Rib bon 12 7 Push the shaf t coming out from th e left plate in so as to lock the right plate. Note Confirm that the right plate is locked securel y . 8 While holding both ends of the paper core shaft with the paper roll, insert it into the printer .
Operat ion Loading the P aper Roll and I nk Ribbon 13 Then, the ST A TUS indicator on the p rinter li ghts in blue while the ERR OR indicator is still lit in red. Load the ink ribbon after y ou finish load ing the paper roll. 12 Hold both spools with both hands.

Miscellaneou s Precauti ons 19 Miscellaneous Precautions Safety • Operate the printer us ing the power source specified in “Specif ications” (page 22) • Be careful not to damage the po wer cord b y placing or dropping heavy objects on it; it is dangerous to use the unit with a damaged po wer cord.
