Ov erview 3 Overvie w The six mode ls of the XCD-ser ies digital c amera modules (Bl ack and white mode ls and RA W color models) empl oying t he IEEE1394 b-2002 standard are equipped with qua lity digital c amera features.

Functions 9 Functions Gain Both Man ual and Auto Gain settings a re a vail able with this camera. The v ariabl e range e xtends from 0 to 24 dB f or the bla ck and white mo dels or from 0 t o 18 dB for t he color models. The c amera is designe d so that the gai n can be subdi vided an d set b y 0.
Functions 10 Au t o E x p o s u r e AutoExposure is a function that automat ically adjusts the gain an d shutter sett ings, based on the br ightness of the subjec t. When the gain or sh utter is set to Auto, th e brightn ess is adjuste d automati cally to th e v alue specif ied with AutoExposure.
Functions 11 Tr i g g e r T rigger shutter i s useful for capturing images in response to a trigger tha t starts the exposure to match a preset timing.
Functions 12 P an/Tilt Pan/ T ilt is a fu nction used to mov e a camera up and down or left and ri ght. Ho we ver this came ra supports a video mode muc h smaller tha n the CCD’ s ef fecti v e pixels by cutti ng out ima ges from th e whole sc reen. Y ou can specify t he portion to be cut o ut using P an/T i lt commands.
Functions 13 Str obe Contr ol A strobe cont rol signal is assigned in the 1 2-pin connector . This allo ws direct command of ligh t- emission fr om the strobe conne cted to the ca mera and controls t he light-emi ssion timing a nd the sign al width. The outpu t terminal is of the o pen-collect or type and should be p ulled at the strobe si de.
Functions 14 Memory Shot The camera is eq uipped with Me mory Shot that temporarily stores an image in the frame memory inside the camera and tr ansfers it later . When multiple cameras are co nnected in the same b us, all the cameras ma y not output i mages at the same t ime due to th e restricti on of 800 Mbps ba nd.
Functions 15 P ar tial Sca n The partial scan is a functi on for outputting pa rt of a whole image as a reg ion of interest on the whole image. Based on the unit cell a s the unit, continuou s parts can be selected. Onl y rectangl es can be sel ected.
Functions 16 Binnin g Mode The mode used when the sensiti vity is increase d and the frame rate is multiplie d based on mixing the CCD pix el data, is call ed the Binning mode.
