5 GB Identifying parts and contr ols See the pages in parenthe ses for further details. A 1 (Power) switch and 1 (power) indicator (pages 9, 18, 2 3) This switch turns the monitor on when the 1 (po wer) indicator lights up in red. To turn the monitor off, press this switch again.

7 GB Setup Before using your monitor, check that the following items are included in your carton: • LCD display • Power cord • HD15-HD15 video signal cable (analog RGB) • DVI-D video signal cable (di gital RGB) • Audio cord (stereo miniplug) • CD-ROM (utility software fo r Windows/Macintosh, Operating Instructions, etc.
8 x Connecting to a Macintosh When connecting a Macintosh computer , use an adapter (not supplied), if necessary. Connect the adapter to the computer before conne cting the video signal cable. Setup 2: Connect the audio cord Connect the supplied audi o cord to th e monitor’s corresponding au dio input jack.
9 GB Setup 4: Bundle the cords and cables 1 Slide up the back cover. 2 Secure the video signal cable, audio co rds and the power cord usin g the cable holder on the cabinet. 3 Slide down the back cover . 4 Bundle all the cords and cables through the cable holder of the stand.
10 If no picture appears on your screen • Check that t he power cord and the video signal cable are properly connected. • If “NO INPUT SIGNAL” appears on the screen: – The computer is in the power saving mode. Try pressing any key on the keyboard or moving the mouse.

12 Customizing Your Monitor You can make numerous adjustme nts to your monitor using the on-screen menu. Navigati ng the menu 1 Display the main menu. Press the MENU button to display the main menu on your screen. 2 Select the menu. Press the m / M buttons to display the desired menu.
13 GB PICTURE ADJUST menu You can adjust the following it ems using the PICTURE ADJUST menu. • MODE (ECO mode) • BACKLIGHT • CONTRAST 6 • BRIGHTNESS •R E S E T 0 •S H A R P N E S S x Selecting the MODE (ECO mode) You can select the picture mode to reduce the power consumption.

18 Technical Features Contr olling the v olume Using the monitor’s speakers or headphones, you can listen to sound from your computer or other audio equipment connected to the monitor’s audio input jacks. You can control the volume by us ing a separate “Volume” menu from the main menu.
19 GB Reducing the power consumption (ECO mode) If you press the ECO button on the front of the mon itor repeatedly, you can select the screen brightness from HIGH t MIDDLE t LOW, and the power c onsumption is reduced.
