4 Safety Information Mains lead Unplug the mains lead when moving the TV. Do not move the set with the mains lead plugged in. It may damage the mains lead and result in fire or electric shock. If the set has been dropped or damaged, have it checked immediately by qualified service personal.
5 GB Power Sources Overloading This TV set is designed to operate on a 220-240V AC supply only. Take care not to connect too many appliances to the same mains socket as this could result in fire or electric shock. Mains lead protection Pull out the ma ins lead by the plug.
6 Installation and moving Ventilation Never cover the vent ilation holes in the cabinet. It may ca use overheating and result in fire. Unless proper ventilation is provided, the TV set may gather dust and get dirty. For proper ventilation, observe the following: • Do not install the TV set tu rned backward or sideways.

22 AV2 OUTPUT The "AV2 Ouptut" option allows you to select th e source to be output from the Scart connector 2 / so that you can record from this Scart the signal comi ng from the TV or the signal that is being viewed on the TV. If your VCR or DVD recorder supports SmartL ink, this procedure is not necess ary.
23 GB The Set Up Menu The “Set Up” menu al lows you to alter various options on this TV. To do this: Press the MENU button and press v three times to select , then press OK to enter thi s menu. Next, press v or V to select the desired option and press OK .
24 PROGRAMME LABELS This option allows you to name a channel using up to five characters (letters or numbers). To do this: 1 Once you have entered the "Set Up" menu as it is explained in the previous page and after selecting this option, press OK , then press v or V to select the programme number with th e channel you wish to name.
25 GB The Manual Programme Preset Menu The “Manual Programme Preset” opti on in the "Set Up" menu allows you to manually tune individual channels. To do this: Press the MENU button and press v three times to select , then press OK to enter the "Set Up" menu.
26 c) Fine tune the broadcas t recepti on. Normally the automati c fine tun i ng (AFT) will give the best possible picture, however you can manually fine tune the TV to obtain a bett er picture reception in case the picture is distorted.
27 GB Other Functions Sleep Timer This function allows you to set the TV to switch itself automatically to standby mode after a specified time period. The foll owing time periods can be sele cted: 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. To do this: Press the button on the remote control rep eatedly until the desired time period appears on the screen.
28 Teletext Teletext is an information servi ce transm itt ed by most TV stations. The index page of the Teletext service (u sually page 100) gives you information on how to use the se rvice. To operate Teletext, us e the remot e contro l buttons as i ndicated below.

Problem Possible solution No pict ure No picture (screen is dark) and no sound. • Check the ae rial connection. • Connect the TV to the mains, and press the power switch on the top side of the TV set.
34 Stripe noise during playback/recording of a VCR. • Video head interference. Keep your VCR away from the TV. • Leave a space of 30 cm between your VCR and the TV set to avoid noise. • Avoid installing your VCR in front or at the side of the TV set.
