2 Installing s To prevent in ternal heat buildup, do not bl ock the ventilat ion openings. s Do not install the TV in a hot or humid place, or in a place subject to excessive dust or m echanical vibration. s Avoid operating t he TV at temper atures below 5°C (4 1°F).
3 Important Safeguards Before using your T V, please read these ins tructions completely, and k eep this ma nual f or fut ure refe rence. Carefully observ e and comply with all warnings, cautio ns and instructions placed on the set or described in the operating instructions or service manual.
4 Ventilation hole s Do not inser t anything in the v entilation hol es. If metal or something flammable e nters, i t may res ult in fire or electric shock. Cleaning Clean the cabi net of the TV wit h a dry soft cloth. To remove the dust from the slots, the openings and the screen, wipe it gently with a soft cloth.
5 Ventilation The slots and openings in the TV are provided for necessary ventilation. To ensure reliable operation of the s et, and to protect it from overheating, these slots and openings must neve r be blocked or covered. Unless proper ventila tion is provided, the unit may gat he r dust and get dirty.
6 Antenna G rounding Accordin g to the Nationa l Electrical Code, ANSI /NFPA 70 Lightning For added protection for th is television receiver during a lig htning storm, or when it is left unattended and unus ed for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and dis connect the antenna.

21 Setup Installing the TV Connecting the A C Po w e r C o r d 1 Secure the A C po wer plug to the A C IN jack. 2 Connect the A C power cord ( supplied) to wall outlet.
22 Setup Storing the Cables in the Cor d Clamp Y ou can attach the supplied cord clamp to the rear of th e TV to store the connecting cables. 1 Attach the supplied cord clamp to the TV stand with fo ur sup plied clamp ri vets. Push the ri vet head to attach the cord clamp to the TV stand.
23 Setup Basic Connections: Connec ting a Cable or Antenna The way in which you will connect your TV v aries, depending on how y our home recei ves a signal (cable, cab l e box, anten na) and whether or no t you plan to connect a VCR. 48 Setup Setting Up the Channel List After you finish con necting your TV , you n eed to run Auto Set up, which automatically set up a vailable chann els. The Auto Prog ram screen appears when you t urn on your TV for the fi rst time afte r hooking it up.
