5 Getting Started Getting Star ted 1. Instal ling the TV Be sure to follow these guidelin es to protect your propert ies and avoi d causing s erious inju ry. • Before carrying the T V , disconnect all cables. • Carrying the lar ge size TV requires two or mo re people.
6 ~ • Carrying the TV requ ires at l east two p eople. When yo u carry th e TV unit, p lace your ha nds as illustrated on page 5 and hold it securely . Do not put stre ss on the LCD panel and the fram e around the screen . • Be carefu l to not pinch your fin gers or the A C po wer cord when y ou install the TV u nit to the Subw oofer .

This TV can be installed on a wall by using a W all- Mount Br acket (sold s eparately ). Before mou nting the TV on a wall, the Sub woofe r must be remo ved from the TV .
8 Follo w the simple steps belo w to remove the Subwoo fer: 1 Disconnect all the cables from the TV . 2 Remov e the 4 scre ws from beh ind the TV as indicated belo w . Do no t re mov e any oth er scre ws fr om the TV . 3 Gently lay the TV (f ace do wn) onto a le vel and stable surface cov ered with a thick and s oft cloth.

For product protec tion a nd safety, Sony strongl y re commends th at you use the W all-M ount Bracke t des igned for your TV an d wall- mount ing is perf ormed by a Sony dealer or a licensed contractor .

14 3. Connecting the TV T o further enhance the sound quality , connect the Subw oo fer and the 2 Satellite Sp eakers before using the TV . ~ • Before co nnecti ng the Subwoo fer , be sure t o att ach the Subw oofer to the TV (see pa ge 5 for mo re details ).
15 Getting Started Satellite Speak ers connection 1 Connect the suppli ed cables to the Satellite Speakers inputs, make sure to connect the black cables to the black jacks of the Satellite Speakers, and the white cables (with the red mark) to the correspon ding red jacks .
16 2 Connect the Satellite Sp eak ers cables to the Subwoofer output. Connect white cables (with the red mark) from the Satellite Speakers to the R+ and L+ Subwoofer jacks (red); an d black cables from the Satellite Speakers to the R- an d L- Subwoofer jacks (black).
17 Getting Started Preparation of Satellite Speak ers W all- Mounting The Satellite Speakers can be installed on a wall b y using a W all-Mount Bracket (sold separately). 1 Before mounting the Sat ellite Speakers on a wall, y ou must remo ve the stand from the Satellite Speakers.
18 When the Sound effect is Dolby Pr o Logic II Mov ie, Dolby Pro Logic II Music or Dolby Pro Logic II Matrix It’ s recommended to place the Satellite Speakers as shown in the illustration below .
19 Getting Started Cable or V HF/UH F (o r VHF o nly) • It is strongly r ecommend ed that y ou connect the an tenna/cab le input u sing a 75-o hm coaxia l cable (not supplie d) to recei ve optimum picture q uality . A 300-o hm twin l ead cable can be ea sily af fecte d by ra dio freq uenc y interfere nce, resulting in signal de gradat ion.

21 Getting Started Use the TV as a monitor for your PC. Sho wn below with the HD15 to HD15 connection. This TV can also be connected to a PC with D VI or HDMI output. (Refer to the supplied Quick Setu p Guide.) ~ • C onnect the PC IN jack to the PC using the HD1 5-HD15 cable with fe rrite core (analog RGB) and aud io cable (page 13).

23 Getting Started 4. Setting Up the Channel List - Initia l Setu p After you f inish con necting you r TV , you need to run Initial Setup , wh ich a uto mat ica lly s ets up av ailable channels. The Initial Setup screen appears when you turn on your TV for the f irst time.
