Remove b atteries and m e dia card Before starti ng your project be sure to r emove th e 2 AA i nternal batteries an d the Med ia Ca rd. Rem ove the 2 AA batt eries and Media Car d Remove t he camera case screw s Rem ove all 4 screws f rom the cam era case.
Rem ove screw 4 fr om under the batter y door. Remove t he case Carefull y remove the b ack of the cam era case f rom the cam era exposing th e in terior electro nics. Next, rem ove the front of the camer a case. T his is a littl e harder to rem ove, but tak e your tim e and unsnap all of the hing es.
Adding som e tape… Before you go any furth er you n eed to add s om e mask ing tape or scotc h tape as shown i n Figure 1 and Figure 2. In Figure you 1 need to add s ome tape to h old the LCD screen in place dur ing the c amer a modif ications. If you do not add this t he LCD will fall out and ca n be dam aged.
Remove Shu tter Bo ard Next caref ully turn th e shutter board plastic h ousing upside down a nd rem ove t he tabs ho lding the sh utter board to the p lastic hous ing as shown. Lift out the sh utter board and turn upright. Locating t he Shutter/ Power/Co mmon Co ntact s The PixCon troller boar d contact p oints ar e shown in Figure 3.
Route th e wires Put the shutter board back into the plast ic housing and scre w the housi ng back to the cam era. T wist the wires i nto a sm all cable and route the cable around the LCD disp lay as s hown in Figure 5. Secure the ca ble to the bottom with som e tape.
2. Wiring you r S40 cam era t o the PixCo ntrolle r Universal bo ard. Connect the following wires to your Univers al board: Shutter – Sh utter, J14- 1, or Pho ne Cable Shutter W ire Ground – G rou.
Zoom Len s issue Because of the zoom lens on th e Son y S600 this can be an issue to get a go od seal bet ween the cam era lens and t he cas e as to not get f lash bleed durin g night ph otos.
