9 1 Preparing the bat tery pack 1 Inser t the battery pack into the battery c harger. 2 Connect the batter y charger to the wall outlet (wall socket). The CHARGE lamp lights on, and charging starts. When the CHARGE lamp turns off , charging is f inished (Practi cal charge).
10 2 Inserting the batt ery pack/a “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) 1 Open the b attery/“Memor y Stick Duo” cover . 2 Insert th e “Memory S tick Duo” (not supplied) al l the way in until it c licks. 3 Insert the battery p ack. 4 Close the batter y/“Memory S tick Duo” cover .

13 Shoot ing im ages easi ly (Aut o adju stment mode) The fo llowing proced ure is for shoo ting a st ill image . 1 Slide the lens cover do wnward. 2 Hold the camera steady , keeping y our arm at your si de. 3 Shoot w ith the shutter button. Movie: Press the H OME button, and select [ Movie Mode] in (Shooting) (page 18).

15 Viewin g/delet ing imag es 1 Press (Playback). If you press when the camera is po wered off, the c amera is turned on automatically and set to playback mode. T o switch to the shooting mode, press again. 2 Select an image with b / B on the contr ol b utton.

18 Lear ning the various f uncti ons – HOM E/Menu Using the HO ME screen The H OME scre en is t he gateway scre en for all th e functio ns of your ca mera. Y ou can select th e shooting mod e or playba ck mode, or change t he settings from the HOME screen.

20 Using menu items 1 Press MENU to display the men u. • The menu can be displayed only when the cam era is in shooting mode or playback mode. • Different items are av ailable, depending on the selected mode. 2 Select the desired item with v / V on the c ontrol button.

23 Viewing “Cyber -shot Handbo ok” or “C yber -shot Step-up Gui de” [ For W indows users 1 Turn on your computer, and insert the CD- ROM (supplied) into t he CD-ROM drive. The screen belo w appears. When you click the [Cyber -shot Handbook] button, the sc reen for copying “Cyber-shot Handbook” appears.
