12 GB Getting Started 2 Attach the post cover to the other end of the post. Orient the s lot tow ard you, a ttach t he po st cove r so t hat th e slot of th e post engage s wit h the tab of the po st cov er, the n secure with t he screw.
13 GB Getting Started 3 Lay the post in the slot of the speaker, slide the post to the end of the slot, then secure the post with the mounting plate and screws. Select th e speaker whose jack color on its rear pan el matches the color tube of the speaker co rd.

Insert the post so that t he slit on the lower p art of the post ali gns with the projection of the base , then secur e the post with the two screws. Note • Make sure that the sl ot on the post aligns with the projec tion of the base by rota ting the post slightly.

25 GB Getting Started You can transmit s ound fro m the unit to an S-AIR pr oduct, suc h as a surr ound amplifier or S-AIR rece iver. An S-AIR produc t is a component that is comp atible with th e S-AIR function. To use the S-AIR fu nction, you nee d to insert the wi reless tra nsceivers into th e unit, surro und amplifier, and S -AIR recei ver.

36 GB Selecting the S ound Mode You can select a sui table sou nd mod e for movi es or mu sic. Press SOUND MODE +/– repeatedly during playback until the desired mode appears in the front panel display.
Sound Adjustm ent 37 GB Note • Th e virtual spe aker effect ma y cause incr eased noise in the playba ck signal. • With decod ing modes that use vir tual speak ers, you will not be able to he ar any sound coming directl y from the s urround spea kers.
38 GB Playing a Disc Depending on the DVD VIDEO or VIDEO CD, some operat ions may b e di fferent or r estr icted . Refer to t he operatin g instru ctions su pplied wit h your di sc. 1 Turn o n your TV. 2 Switch the input selector o n the TV to this system.
Disc 39 GB To use the headphones Connect the headphon es to PHONES jack on the unit. The s ound of the syste m is mut ed. Disc 41 GB Note • While th e system is pl aying a Super VCD on which the audio tr ack 2 is not rec orded, no sou nd will come out when you s elect [2:STEREO ], [2:1/L] , or [2:2/R]. If you press AUDIO repeated ly during playbac k, the forma t of th e curre nt audi o sign al (PCM , Dolby D igital , DTS, etc.
42 GB To change a playback layer when playing a hybrid Super Audio CD Some S uper Au dio CDs con sist of a Su per Audi o CD layer and a C D layer. Y ou can ch ange the playback layer you want to listen to. Note • When the Supe r Audio CD doe s not have the Supe r Audio CD layer , you cannot select the playbac k layer.
