12 On the printi ng proc ess The printe r is a d ye su blima tion prin ter using an ink rib bon printing pro cess. As illust rated belo w , the i nk ribbo n is mad e up of three colored pa nels (yel low , magent a, and c yan) , and on e clear lamin ation pane l for overcoat ing.
13 Loading t he ink r ibbon 1 Pull and ope n the ink rib bon compart ment cover . 2 Insert the ink ribbon in the arr o w direction until it clic ks into place. 3 Close the ink ribbon compart ment cover . 14 • Nev er put your hand into the in k ribbon compartment. The thermal head reaches high temperatures, especiall y after repeated printing. • Do not rewind the ink ribbon and use the rewound ink r ibbon for printing. Otherwise, proper printi ng result wi ll not be obtained, or ev en a malfunction m ay occur .
15 3 Set the print paper into the tray . Y ou can set up to 20 sheets of print paper . Riffle the print paper thoroughly . Insert the print paper into the tray , with the protectiv e sheet at the top. If there is no protecti ve sheet: Riffle the print paper thoroughly .
16 6 Insert the paper tray into the prin ter . Insert the paper tray straight in until it reaches the end. P Notes • Do not remove the paper tr ay during printing. • T o avoid paper jam or malfunctions of the printer, make sure the following before printing: – Do not write or type on the print paper .
17 3 Connect the printer to a TV . Connect the printer to the high definit ion TV with the com ponent video cab le and the A/V connecti ng cabl e. • When both the Component video cable and the A/V connecting cable ar e connected, images will be output not v ia the A/V OUT jack, b ut via the COMPONENT OUT jack.

19 Print ing i mages 1 Place the ca mera and the adaptor plate on the camera adaptor and turn on the power of the camera. The playback screen appear s. 2 Select the ima ge y ou want t o print by pressing b / B . • Y ou can print an image by selectin g it from the index screen.

21 T roubl esho oting If you run into any problems using t he printe r , use the foll owing guidance to solve the problem. If the problem persists, c onsult your Sony de aler . x Power/ Char ging Cannot t urn on the pr inter . • Che ck whether the A C power cord is properly connec ted to an AC outlet.
22 x Prin ting An error is displayed on the camera and you cannot print images. • The ink ribbon do es not match th e paper type. Inse rt the corre ct print paper that matches the ink ri bbon l oaded t o th e prin ter . T o change the ink ri bbon, stop pr inti ng, a nd repl ace the ink ribbon, then res ume printing .
23 x Printed res ults The print ed pictur es are poor in quality . • Du st is on the ink ribbon . W ipe the plastic part of the ink ribbon and remove dust. • Dust or f inger prints are imp rinted on the print ed surf ace. Do not t ouch the pr inting s urface (the gloss y side wi th no impr int).
24 x Other s Cannot in sert the ink ri bbon easil y . • Remove the i nk ribbo n and th en re- insert it . Only wh en t he ink ri bbon is too sla cked to be loaded, wi nd the ink ribbon in the directio n of the arrow to rem ove the slack. ( t page 14 ) The ink ribbon cannot be remove d.
25 If the prin t pape r jams, the ERR OR indicato r light s or flas hes rapidl y and printi ng stops. When th e ERROR indicator li ghts, remove the print paper and re sume printi ng. When th e ERR OR indicato r fl ashes rapi dly , disconne ct the AC power cord (m ains le ad) from the wa ll outlet (w all sock et), th en insert it ag ain.
26 4 Place the c leaning sheet into the paper tray . Inser t the cleaning sheet with th e no-imprint side facing up. 5 Set the paper t ray into the printer. The printer s tarts cleaning automatical ly . The 1 (on/standby) indicator flashes slowly in green.
