Remove b atteries and m e dia card Before starti ng your project be sure to r emove th e 2 AA intern al batteries a nd the M edia Car d. Rem ove the 2 AA batt eries and Media Car d Remove t he camera case screw s Rem ove all 3 screws f rom the cam era case.
Remove t he case Carefull y remove the b ack of the cam era case f rom the cam era exposing th e in terior electro nics, Fig ure 1. Next, rem ove the f ront of the c am era case, Figure 2. This is a littl e harder to remove , but tak e your tim e and unsna p all of the h inges .
Insert the Shutter Assembly Cabl e The next s tep is to ins ert th e S40 Shut ter Assem bly cable into t he shutter c onnector. Locate the sh utter co nnector s hown in F igure 4. Using a sm all pair t o twee zers with sm ooth jaws caref ully rem ove the cabl e from this connector.

Zoom Len s issue Because of the zoom lens on th e Son y S40 this can be an issue to get a good s eal bet ween the camera lens a nd the cas e as to n ot get f lash bleed durin g night ph otos.
