16 Step 1 : Connec ting to Yo ur TV About vid eo/HDMI OUT jacks The player has th e foll owing v ideo jacks. Conn ect the playe r to y our TV accord ing to the input jacks on yo ur TV. When c onnec ting the pl ayer to your TV usi ng the HD MI cable, you can en joy high quality digita l picture s and so und thr ough the HD MI OU T jack.

If you con nect a Sony TV that is compatible with the “Cont rol for HDMI” function (pag e 18), refer to the instr uction manual supplied with t he TV.

26 Step 3: Inserti ng the Extern al Memory To enjo y additi onal co ntent (su ch as BONUSVIEW/BD-LIVE) on certain Blu-ray Disc title s, you wil l need to use external mem ory (not supp lied). Insert the exte rnal memory device (1 GB or larger USB fla sh memory, su ch as Sony USM2GL, USM4GL, or USM1GH) into th e EXT sl ot as you r local stor age.
27 Hooku ps and Settings Step 4 : Co nnecti ng to the Netw ork Connect the pla yer to you r Interne t source . Select t he conne cting met hod, co nnecti ng via a wire less LAN route r (acces s poi nt) (be low) o r to a broa dband ro uter di rectl y (page 28).

29 Hooku ps and Settings Step 5 : Co nnecti ng th e Mains Le ad After a ll of the other co nnecti ons are complete, connect the supplied main s lead to the AC IN ter minal of th e play er. The n plug the player and TV mains l eads (A C power cord s) in to th e ma ins.
30 You ca n contro l the vol ume, in put sour ce, and po wer s witc h of yo ur S ony TV with t he supplied remote. b When yo u replace t he batte ries of t he remot e, the code n umber ma y be reset t o the de fault setti ng. Set the appropri ate code number again.

58 b • If you sele ct “96kHz/24bit ” when an AV ampli fier (receive r) that do es not suppor t 96 kHz is connec ted, no sound or a loud sound may result. • “48 kHz/96kHz PCM” is not effective when “Aud io Output Priorit y” is set to “HDM I,” “Mu lti Channel Analogue,” or “Ster eo Analogue.
