47 Keys Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions Clea n mo de In a luminance key, linear key or color vector key, yo u can enable the clean mode. When the clean mode is on, the key source does not affect the key fill, which is adde d unchanged to t he backg rou nd.

57 Wipes Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions P attern Mix You can create a n ew pattern by combinin g two s elected patterns (main and “sub”). Not e It is not possible to apply a pattern mix to an indepen dent key transition. For de tai l s , s e e “ P att e rn Mix ” (pa ge 30 7).
Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Function s 58 Wipes • A valu e of 0.00 corresponds to the beginning of the transition, and a val ue of 100.00 to the end of the transition. • A negative Start v alue signifies that the main and s ub patterns are already combined when the transition starts.

Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Function s 60 Wipes Split This splits the patter n, making the pa r ts o f the wip e move in opposite directi ons. The parameter Split No. specifies th e number of sp lits . The parameter Spacing specifies the spacing between adjacent p atterns.
61 Wipes Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions Po s i t i o n e r You can mov e the wipe patter n to any posi tion. • The parameter H Position contr ol s the horizontal position of the patter n. A negative v alue moves t he pattern to t he left, and a positive v alue moves the pattern to the right.

63 Wipes Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions Aspect ratio You can freely change the aspect ratio of the pattern. A negative value of the parameter Asp ect str e tch es the pattern vertically; a positive value str e tch es the pattern horizontally .

Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Function s 66 Wipes The parameter Speed determines the speed of waves. A value of − 100.00 generat es the maximum counter clockwise speed of waves, and a value o f +100.00 the maximum clockwis e speed. Spring As the transition progresses , the edge of the pattern is subjected to barrel or pincus hion dist ortion.
67 Wipes Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions Wipe Snapshots You can save a wipe pattern and all its as sociated modifiers , together wit h the transition rate, instantaneously in a dedicated register, fo r recall when required. There are 10 wipe snapshot registers on each M/E bank and the PGM/PST bank .
Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Function s 68 DME Wipes DME Wipes A DME wipe is a wipe transition that uses a DME effect to change from one video image to the next. There are two type s of DME wipe: those which can be selected f or a normal transition, and those which can be selected for an indep endent key transi tion.

73 Frame Memory Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions Frame Memory Overvie w Frame memory is a fu nction whereby a f r ame of input video can be f rozen and written to memory, for further use as material for editing. The memory capacity for freeze images is a max imum of 222 frames .
Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Function s 74 Frame Memory Operation modes The frame memo ry has the following o peration mode. V/K mode: When the pair mode is active, the key signal is automatically selected on frame memory source bus 2. This is convenient for handling the video and key signals toget her in frame memory.
75 Frame Memory Chapter 1 D VS-9000 Functions Savi ng an image (store) You can save an image in temporary me mory which has been p laced with the freeze function as a file in memory. You can save a single image in a single file and apply a name of up to eight characte rs to the file.
