INTRODUCTION Thank you for purch asing the Soleus Air KY-32E 12000 BTU Portable Evapor ative Air Conditioner . This unit is designed to improve li ving and working c omfort by p roviding cool ing, dehum idifying a nd fan f unctions wit h minimal installatio n.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Before installing and using the portable air co nditi oner, please read this Own er’s manual carefully. 1. Never use or st ore gasoli ne or other flammable vap or or liqu id near this u nit. 2. Maintain at least 20” (50cm) clearan ce space around all side of the unit.
LCDI POWER CORD A N D PLUG This air conditioner is equipped with an LCDI (Leakage Cu rrent Detection and Interruption) power cord and plug as required by U S National Electri c Code 440.6 5. This cord co nsists of a length of shield ed flex ible cord with no termination on the load side an d a LCDI attachment plug on the line side.

ASSEMBLY REQUIREMENTS EXHAUST DUCT When you use the unit as an air conditio ner, the hot exhaust air and evaporated condensate water must be vented out of the room . The exhaust duct and ve nting k it serves this purpose. NOTE: The exhaust duct and ven ting kit should not be used while th e unit is operated in dehumidification, or fan mode.
NOTE: In or der to achie ve maximum room cooling e fficiency , the exhaust d uct should re main as short a nd straight as possible. T o further sho rten the exha ust hose, fi rst unthread ei ther exhaust duct adapter cloc kwise to rem ove it. Then cut the h ose to desired l ength.
CONTROL PANEL FU NCTIONS 1. Power On/Off C ontrol Starts or stops the unit. 2. Temperature Setting Co ntrol Select the desired t emperature sett ing by pressi ng either the ▲▼ buttons. It is recomm ended to set the temperature be fore selecting t he Mode Co ntrol.
LCD DISPLAY OPERATION USING THE CONTROL P ANEL COOLING OPERATIO N 1. Ensure the exhaust duct pro perly installed. Refer to page 8 for exh aust duct installation. 2. Plug the Power Cord to the power outlet. 3. Turn on t he unit by p ressing the Powe r Button o n the control panel.
NOTE: Do n ot use the exhaus t duct when t he unit is r unning at dehum idifying m ode. You m ust remove the exhaust du ct from the u nit. When the unit is runni ng at dehum idifying m ode, the fan s peed cannot be adjusted. Keep th e windows and the do ors closed to aid the efficiency of the unit in removing the moistu re from the room .
13 SETTING THE CLOCK 1. Press 1/0 button to turn on the remote control. 2. Press the Hr and Min buttons until the LCD displays the correct time. 3. Press the Send button to set ti me. COOLING OPERATI ON 1. Press the 1/0 button to turn on th e remote control.
OPTIONAL WATER DRAIN AGE When operati ng the air c onditione r in coolin g or dehum idifying m ode under no rmal condit ions, the cond ensation water is autom atically evaporated from an internal drip pan out through t he exhaust d uct.
MANUAL DRAINAGE When the unit is operating i n manual drainage mode, e xcess condensation in the drip pan will rise until i t reaches a predetermined level, at which time the air conditioner will si gnal a warning (E4 on LCD) and shut off.
