4 SECTION 1 – A SSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS INTRODUCTION The 6-3125 Clamshell Grass Catch er kit fits Snapper Rear Eng ine Riding mow ers equipped w ith 28” and 33” decks. Use the following instructions to assemble the grass catcher components and prepare y our machine for collecting g rass clippings and leaves.
5 SECTION 1 – A SSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 2 HITCH PLATE A ND HEAT SHIELD INSTALLA TION A. Attach triangular s haped Hitch Plate to bottom of Fr ont Cover Assem bly . Or ientation of the holes in the hitch plate is important, obser ve picture c arefully before assem bling.
6 SECTION 1 – A SSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 4 HINGE A D JUSTMENT – REA R COVER The holes in the rear Hinge Plate are slotted and adjustm ent may be required to insure a pr oper seal between the front and rear Cover s. A. Insert hook on the right Rear Cover Assem bly into round hole in right Handle Link .
7 SECTION 1 – A SSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS IMPO RTA NT – “ M” SERIES RIDERS: Series 17, “M” model r iders will require the drilling of tw o holes in the front f rame to ins tall the Front W eight. Series 19, “ M” model riders already have the holes drilled but are covered by the SNAPPER decal.
8 SECTION 1 – A SSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FIGURE 1.14 C. Hold the adapter in front of the dec k. Align the adapter lugs with the lug retainers in the hinge. Push or lightly tap front of adapter towards the rear until tight against deck . See Figure 1.15.
9 SECTION 1 – A SSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 8 GRASS TUBE INSTALLA T ION A. Attach Tube Handle and Handle Base to T ube before ins talling Tube to catcher. Ins ert (2) 1/4-20 x 3/4” Car riage bolts through Handle Base and holes in Tube as shown. See Figure 1.
10 SECTION 2– OPERA TION & MA INTENA NCE INTRODUCTION Follow operation a nd maintenance instr uctions in the Operator ’s Manual provided with the S napper Rear Engine Ride r. 2.1 GRA SS CATCHER OPERA TION A. Select desired c utting height. Choose a setting that will not attempt to cut of f too m uch at once, overloading the m achine.
