This appliance is a high efficiency , flueless catalytic flame effect gas fir e. It pro vides radiant and conv ected warmth both effi cient- ly and safel y utilising the latest type catalytic conv erter and burner technology .
If the appliance is to be sited near a disused or unserviceable fireplace served by a natural draught flue then the old flue mu st be sealed off. It will be necessar y to ventilate the old flue to pre v ent condensation and dampness forming, howe v er any air v ent use d to ventilate the old flue m ust not be sited within 500mm of this appliance.
The appliance is designed to be v ersatile, and as such will operate correctly when exposed to normal gentle draughts experienced within the home. It is not r ecommended, howev er that the appliance b.
Remov e the outer packaging, remo ve an y instructions or fixing kits. Read ALL these instructions before continuing to unpack or install this a ppliance. Lift off the remaining packaging components and r emov e the contents of the bo x. Check that the components supplied corr elate with the component checklist.
If the appliance is to be mounted on the inner leaf of a conv entional ca vity brick wall, or a solid wall, then the fibr e wall plugs and fixing scr ews pr ovided ma y be used. Depending on the condi- tion of the wall it ma y be necessary to use additional fixings.
Classic models : The control knob is located on the low er right hand side of the outer case.It is marked as shown in figur e 6; Linear models : The control knob is located on the low er right hand side of the outer case. Please note that the Linear and Classic models are supplied with a tinted glass facia assembly , which dif- fer in appearance when vie wed fr om the fr ont, simi- larly the F ab model is supplied with a metal facia, ho we ver the method of attachment to the appliance, for all frame designs, is the same .
All models : Firstly , r emov e the decorative frame/glass facia assembly as described in section 8.3. Remove the inner glass panel, and disconnect the gas connection inside appliance.
It is recommended that the catal ysts are inspected f or signs of damage and dirt during routine servicing procedures. The expect- ed life of the catalysts is in excess of 11,000 hours (10 y ears of normal use). After this time the catalysts should be replaced .
Fire sparks but pilot does not light No gas to fir e, check isolators are open. Pipe work blockage, clean out. Air not fully purged, r e purge supply or wait longer . Spark earthing to metal work, reset ga p corr ectly . Block ed pilot, clean out internally .

Clearances to combustible materials Combustible materials are def ined as wood, fabrics, or other materials likel y to combust if exposed to flame. Generally , an y mate- rial, which is lik ely to discolour , melt or misshape when exposed to moderate heat, should be consider ed as a combustible mate- rial or surface.

The appliance should be check ed on an annual basis to ensur e it is w orking safely and that ther e is no excessiv e build up of so ot. The frequency of service will depend on usage , but MUST be carried out at least once annually . Ser vicing must be carried out b y a competent person, such as a CORGI register ed installer .
