TIP: Y our Slingbox comes with component, composite, and coaxial cables to pass- through connections to your TV or set top box.
T o make the set up process easier , write do wn the type, brand and model of the A/V sources, along with information about y our home network. This will come in handy when you configure the sof t ware later on.
STEP 1 : CONNECT YOUR HD SOURCE VIDEO : If you ha ve a high-definition de vice, you can connect it to your Slingbo x with the included component video cables. Component video cables hav e a set of green, blue and red connectors. Connect these cables to the component jac ks labeled IN on your Slingbo x PRO-HD .
AUDIO : Analog audio connectors are usually red and white. T o connect using analog audio, use the included stereo audio cable. The red connector is for the right audio c hannel, and white is for the lef t audio c hannel. Insert one end of these audio cables into the jac ks labeled IN on y our Slingbox PR O-HD .
STEP 2 : CONNECT YOUR SD SOURCE VIDEO : If you ha ve an SD (standard definition) A/V de vice, you can connect it to your Slingbo x using the included composite cables. Composite cables hav e a yello w connector for video, along with red and white connectors for audio.
AUDIO : Composite cables also hav e red and white connectors for audio. Insert the red connector into the red composite jac k labeled IN on your Slingbo x PRO-HD . These jac ks are also in the top row on the bac k of your Slingbox. Connect the other end of this cable to the red output audio jac k on y our SD source.
STEP 3 : CONNECT YOUR COAX SOURCE Coaxial cable carries both video and sound. The y're used to connect antennas or to some cable TV systems. Connect y our coaxial source to the jac k labeled CO AX IN on y our Slingbox PRO-HD .
STEP 4 : A TT ACH REMOTE CONTROL IR CABLE Connect the remote control IR cable to the IR jac k on the Slingbox. Ne xt, place a remote control IR cable head on the top or bot tom of y our A/V de vice so it points at its IR sensor .
10 STEP 5 : LINK TO YOUR NETWORK • Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Slingbox NETW ORK jac k. • Connect the other end into your router . The Slingbo x works with almost an y router with a high-speed Internet connection or a broadband home network.
11 STEP 6 : A TT ACH THE POWER ADAPTER • Connect the pow er adapter cable into the Slingbox PO WER jac k. • Plug the pow er adapter into an electrical outlet.
