AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a A ccessin g the pr oduct Access from the Internet Once connected, the Axis product is accessible on your local net work (LAN). To access the product from the Internet you must con fi gure your network router to allow incoming data traf fi c to the product.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a A ccessin g the pr oduct Note • The default administrator user name root is permanent and cannot be deleted. • If the password for root is lost, the product must be reset to the factory default settings. See Reset to factory def ault settings, on page 38 .
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a A ccessin g the pr oduct The Play button connects to the Axis product and starts playing a media stream. The Stop button stops the video stream. The Snapshot button takes a snapshot of the video image. The location where the image is saved can be speci fi ed in the AMC Control Panel.

AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Video and A u dio H.264 The GOV structure describes the composition of the video stream a nd setting the GOV-length to a higher value saves considerably on bandwidth but may have an adv erse e ffect on image quality.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Video and A u dio Exposure control - These settings is used to adapt to the amount of light used. Automatic is the default settings can be us ed in most situations. The shutter speed is automatically set to produce optimum image quality.

AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a PTZ (P an Tilt Zoom) PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) Preset positions A preset position is a prede fi ned view that can be used to quickly steer the camera to a speci fi c location.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a PTZ (P an Tilt Zoom) OSDI zones are set up under PTZ > OSDI Zones . The Axis product uses the coordinates o f the center of the view to set the lower left and upper right zone areas. First navigate to where you wou ld like the lowermost left point of the O SDI zone to be located.

For more information, go to www.ax is.com/applications To upload an application, go to Applications > Packages , click Browse to locate the fi le and the n click Upload Package .
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Ev e n t s Events Prede fi ned parameters, known as an Event or Event T ype , can trigger actions in the Axis product. A common event type is an alarm that causes the product to upload images to an Event Server .

For example, select Recurrence pattern and let the e vent start on Sundays at 13.00 with a duration of 12 hours. 5. Set the When Activated parameters, that is, de fi ne what the product should do when the event is activated.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Ev e n t s Set up motion detection To set up a motion detecti on Include Window, follow these instructions: 1. Go to Events > Motion Detection . 2. Select the Con fi gure Included Windows option and click New .
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Ev e n t s Low level (0%) Even very small objects trigger motion detection. An object that appears in the window triggers motion detection only for a very short time before it is co nsidered as non-moving. Only very bright objects on a dark background trigger motion detection.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Re c o rd i n g s Recordings If using an SD card, the Axis product can be con fi gured to record video continuously or as a r esult of a triggered or schedule d event: • To start a continuous recording, see page 28 .

To pre vent the disk from becoming full, it is recommended to enable automatic disk cleanup under System Options > Storage .
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options System Options Security Users User access control is enabled by default and can be con fi gured under System Options > Security > Users . An administrator can set up other users by givi ng them user names and passw ords.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options To access a network protected by IEEE 802.1X, devices must auth enticate themselves. The authentication is performed by a third-party entity called an authe ntication server, typically a RADIUS se rver , examples of which a re FreeRADIUS and Mi crosoft Internet Authentication Service.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options • Synchronize with computer time sets date and time according to the computer’s clock. With this option, date and time are set once and will not be updated automatically. • Synchronize with NTP Server obtains date and time from an NTP server.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options AVHS is enabled by defa ult. The settings are con fi gured under System Options > Network > TCP IP > Basic . One-click enabled - Press the product’s control button (see Hardware overview , on page 4 ) to connect to an AVHS service over the Internet.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options Link-Local IPv4 Address Link-Local Address is enabled by default and assigns the Axi s product an additional IP address which can be used t o a ccess the product from other hosts on the same segment on the loca l network.

AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options The following traps are available: •C o l d s t a r t •W a r m s t a r t •L i n k u p • Authentication failed SNMP v3 provid es encryption and secure passwords. To use traps with SNMP v3, an SNMP v3 management application is required.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a System Options Maintenance The Axis product provides several maintenance functions. These are available under System Options > Maintenance . Click Restart to perform a correct restart if the Axis prod uct is not beha ving as expected.

AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Tr oubleshooting Troubleshooting Checking the fi rmware Firmware is softwar e that determines the f unctionality of networ k devices. One of your fi rst actions when troubleshooting a problem should be to check the current fi rmware version.
AXIS M5 0 13 PTZ Dome Netw ork Camer a Tr oubleshooting ping -s 408 <IP address> In Windows , type the following from a command/DOS prompt: arp -s <IP address> <serial number> temp ping -l 408 -t <IP address> 2. If the product does not reply within a few seconds, res tart it and wait for a reply.
