About this document This manual is intended for administrators and users of the AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera, and is applicable to rmware 5.50 and later . It includes instructions for using and managing the product on your network. Previous experience of networking will be of use when using this product.
The power supply used with this product shall fulll the requirements for Safety Extra Low V oltage (SEL V) and Limited P ower Source (LPS) according to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1. Battery The Axis product uses a 3.0 V BR/CR2032 lithium battery as the power supply for its internal real-time clock (RT C).

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Hardware Overview When connecting external equipment, a multi-connector cable (available from Axis) is required in order to maintain the product’s NEMA/IP rating. For more information, see Multi-Connector Cable (sold separately) on page 57 .
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Access the Product Access the Product To install the Axis product, see the Installation Guide supplied with the product.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Access the Product Set the Root P assword To access the Axis product, you must set the password for the default administrator user root . This is done in the Congure Root P assword dialog, which opens when the product is accessed for the rst time.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Access the Product The Manual T rigger button is used to trigger an action rule from the Live View page. For information about how to congure and enable the button, see Manual Trigger on page 12 . Click Snapshot to save a snapshot of the video image.

Zoom bar – Use the arrows to zoom in and out, or click on a position on the bar to zoom to that position.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Media Streams The AMC Control P anel can be used to congure various video and audio settings. Please see the AXIS Media Control User’s Manual for more information. The AMC Control P anel is automatically installed on rst use, after which it can be congured.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Media Streams Note • <ip>= IP addess • The Axis product supports QuickTime 6.5.1 and later . • QuickTime may add latency to the video stream. • It may be possible to use other players to view the H.264 stream using the paths above, although Axis does not guarantee this.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Set Up the Product Set Up the Product The Axis product can be congured by users with administrator or operator rights. To open the product’s Setup pages, click Setup in the top right-hand corner of the Live View page.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Video and Audio • Maximum frame rate . T o avoid bandwidth problems, the frame rate allowed to each viewer can be Limited to a xed amount. Alternatively , the frame rate can be set as Unlimited , which means the Axis product always delivers the highest frame rate possible under the current conditions.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Video and Audio For quick setup, use one of the predened stream proles. Each predened prole has a descriptive name, indicating its purpose. If required, the predened stream proles can be modied and new customized stream proles can be created.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Video and Audio Iris - A larger F-value means less light sensitivity , but a larger depth of eld. Gain - Measured in decibels (dB), gain describes the amount of amplication applied to a signal, in this case the visual information in the image.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Video and Audio Overlay Image An overlay image is a static image superimposed over the video stream. The image, for example a company logo, is used to provide extra information or to mask a part of the image.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Detectors Medium level (50%) A large difference in luminance is required to trigger motion detection. Low level (0%) Even very small objects trigger motion detection. An object that appears in the window triggers motion detection only for a very short time before it is considered as non-moving.
AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Applications Applications Third party applications can be uploaded to and installed on the Axis product. Applications add functionality to the product, for example video analytics and intelligent video capabilities such as recognition, tracking, detection and counting.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Events Events The Event pages allow you to congure the Axis product to perform actions when different events occur . For example, the product can start a recording or send an email notication when motion is detected.

AXIS P5522 PTZ Dome Network Camera Events Set Up Recurrences Recurrences are used to trigger action rules repeatedly , for example every 5 minutes or every hour . To set up a recurrence: 1. Go to Events > Recurrences and click Add . 2. Enter a descriptive name and recurrence pattern.
