8 • Disconn ect the unit from the mains pow er supply in the event of electrical storms and when not in use. T o avoid damage that could be caused by lightning striking in the vicinity of your home, disconnect the units in the event of electrical storms or when the system will remain unused for prolonged periods.

1 1 4 I NST ALL A TI O N POS ITI ON I NG TH E TWO U N ITS The HTL40 LI N K system consists of two separate units (the Dig iOp - tic™ Image Processor and the screen), each of which is equipped with a power cable; the two units are interconnected by a 2 0 m fibre optic cable.

1 3 Fig.1 1 With the panel in its vertical position, inser t the power cable plug into the socket on the L CD panel (Fig.8). Caution! Do not supply power to the panel by plugging the power cable into the mains socket outlet until you have finished the installation procedure.
1 4 During installation of the fibre optic cable: • Th e indiv idual optical cables are delicate: always handle the main cable without touching the individual optical cables (Fig.1 3). Never pull the individual optical cables or connectors; if neces - sary , you may pull the main three-core cable.
1 5 Fig.1 4 Avoid exposing the panel to direct light sources. As far as possible it is also advisable to avoid placing light coloured furniture or other objects with highly reflective surfaces in the im - mediate proximity of the screen.

1 8 The HTL40 LINK system consists of the Screen and the DigiOptic™ Image Processor (which is also the system control centre). The DigiOptical Image Processor sends commands to the screen and receives operating status information from the screen and function commands from the user .

20 AUTO 7 R E M O TE CO NTROL The remote control serves to control the system from a distance. The system is equipped with two infrared sensors, at the front and rear of the screen and on the front panel of the Dig iOptic™ Image Processor .
21 8 O N- SCR EE N M E N U All system functions can be activated from the keypad or remote control with the aid of a practical and comprehensive system of on screen menus.
22 BR I GHTN ESS Use this contro l to adjus t the darker areas of the picture (black level), without significantly affecting bright areas. F or correct adjustment it may prove useful to display a grey scale with at least twenty bands.
23 SHAR P N ESS M O DE This allows you to select the type of processing associated with sharpness adjustment. In the case of a prog ressive or interlaced video signal VIDEO mode is advisable; with PC g raphic signals use GRAP H IC mode .
24 P ANOR AM IC: stretches the 4:3 image, slightly cropping the upper and lower par ts. Panoramic is ideal for displaying a 4:3 image on the 1 6:9 screen of the Display . PIXEL T O P IXEL: displays the image as it is input without adapting it to the screen.

I N P UTS LIST In order to make the HTL40 LI N K system increasingly flexible, the functions described below make it possible to modify the inputs selection menu and adapt it so that it matches the requirements of the user more closely .
26 TEXT I N SE RT Characters are entered using a specific text input menu (Fig.25). This menu provides the facility to store text strings easily and quickly .
27 OSD TI M EOUT Determines the On Screen Display timeout. When the On Screen Display appears it will remain displayed for the time set in this parameter star ting from the time the last key was pressed. The adjustment is made using the ◀ (decrease) and ▶ (increase) keys within a 5-60 second timeframe.
28 RECALL M EM OR I ES T o retrieve memories select the required line and press the ▶ key . The parameters stored in the selected memory will be applied to the displaye d image , while a confi rmation messag e will be displa yed to confirm the operation ‘MEMORY 1 R ECALLED.
