- 2 - KITCHEN RADIO KH2289 T echnical dat a This appliance has been both examined and appr oved in regard to conformity with the fundamental require- ments and other relev ant regulations of the EMC Directive 2004/108/ EC as w ell as the Directive for Low V oltage Appliances 2006/95/ EC .
- 3 - Risk of electrical shocks! • Connect the appliance only to correctly installed and properly eart hed po wer sockets. Ensur e t hat the rating of the local power supply tallies com- pletely with the details given on the rating plate of the appliance.
- 4 - Notice regarding electrical power surges (EFT / electrical fast transient) and electrostatic discharges: In a case of malfunction due to an electrical fast transient (power sur ge) and/or electrostatic discharge, the appliance must be r eturned to default settings in order to r e-establish normal operation.
- 5 - Fixing the kitc hen radio beneath a wall cabinet With the supplied mounting plate q you can fix the kitchen radio below , for e xample, a kitchen wall cabinet : 1. Determine a suitable location for the kitchen radio. 2. Press the two r etaining levers on the back of the appliance down.
- 6 - Commissioning Inser ting the back-up batteries The back-up batteries ensure that the programmed time, date, alarm time and set SDAs (Special Day Aler t) are not er ased in the event of a pow er failure. For this, you r equire two 1.5V batteries of type AAA .
- 7 - Automatic Update (RDS) The RDS signal transfers additional information such as name of the station, time or song title to the radio. With the assistance of the automatic update function, the time display of your kitchen radio is automatically updated upon reception of the RDS signal.
