3 Chapter 1. Before getting started 1 - 1 . S y s t e m r e q u i r e m e n t s System configurations To use SIGMA HDTV USB V1, the follow ing configurations are needed. 7 2 - 2 . C o n n e c t i n g t h e U S B c a b l e 1. Connect the USB cable to the USB port of SIGMA HDTV5 USB V1 2. Connect the other side of the USB cable to the USB p ort of your system as drawn below.
8 2-4. Connecting other devices (VCR, Camcorder etc.) . Video connection 1. Connect S-Video output (black) of an external video device to S-Video input of SIGMA HDTV5 USB V1 with the S-Video cable. 2. Connect Composite output of an external video device to Composite input of SIGMA HDTV5 USB V1 wit h the c ompo s ite c onv ersi on cabl e.
9 . Driver Installation 1. Insert SIGMA HDTV5 U SB V1 into your CD-R OM drive. 2. When connecting the SIGMA HDTV5 USB V1 to your system, the following dialog box appears. “Found New Hardware wizard” then click [Cancel]” 3. Run ‘SETUP.EX E’ in ‘Driver’ fold er of in your C D-ROM drive.

13 Chapter 3. Using SI GMA HDTV5 USB V1 3 - 1 . B a s i c f u n t i o n SMPlayer is a TV viewing to ol for your favorable d igital TV programs. In case of connecting to an external video de vi ce, you can also enjoy a video in the SMPlayer Runnin g the prog r am Double-clic k ‘[ ]’ in the Windows, a TV window appears as drawn below.
14 Setting the input mo de This function is to set an input mo de (HDTV/CADTV/ TV/CATV/VIDEO/SVH S/FILE/DV/DVHS) in SMPlayer . Click ‘[ ]‘ in the main panel then the panel will be changed to the selectable input mode. . Details for eac h input mode HDTV : HDTV mode CADTV : Digital cable TV mode .
15 Channel window (Channel memory/ delete) This function is to scan, save or de lete all available TV channels from the ove r the air or digital cable. The channel window appears if you click [ ] in the main p anel. [NOTE] . Run “Auto TV channel searching” to scan all available TV channels for the first time.
16 3 - 2 . C a p t u r e f u n c t i o n Saving the st ill image This function is to save a mo tion video into a still image . How to save the still image Click [ ]’ in the panel, the screen is saved as a file (When the file is saved, the file name is shown on the screen) .
17 3 - 3 . O t h e r f u n c t i o n s Reservation function This function is to reserve or record a TV program as pre-scheduled. Click ‘[ ]’ on the tray bar then select the ‘Reserve’as drawn below. . Schedule window appears. Select “Add,” “Modify,” “Delete” or “Delete All” in the reservation list.
18 File play mode This mode is to play a video file that saved in your system 1. Click [ ]’or [ ]’to find a vi de o fil e you wa nt . 2. “Open” window appears then choose a file and click [Open]. 3. The video file will be loaded in the TV window automatically.
19 Time -Shift This allows you to pau se a live broadcast and return to it or mome nts and continue exactly where you left off. The live broadcast is saved in HDD space as mu ch as its available free space. Therefore, you are able to watch and enjoy your favorite TV show like your VCR tape.
20 Menu This is a menu set for SMPlayer program. Click ‘Menu [ ] ‘in the panel or right mouse button in the window.. Still capture Save as a still image. Record Sav e as a vide o fil e Channel Windo w Show or hide the Channel window that can be memorized or deleted.
21 Save configuration Show the configuration to save video or still image. Remocon option Remote control icon should be activated on the tray . OSD configurat ion Set the colo r or size of OS D. OSD stands fo r On Screen Display . File c ontrol Whenever pressing Hot key(Ctrt+L/R), the play position is moved as set in the menu.
