56 AXIS 231D+/232D+ - Technical Specifications General performance considerations When setting up your system, it is importa nt to consider how various settings and situations will affect performance. Some factors affect the bandwidth (the bit rate) required, others can affect the frame rate, an d some affect both.
57 AXIS 231D+/232D+ - Technical Specifica tions The following factors are among th e most important to consider: • High image resolutions and/or lower compre ssion levels result in larger images. Bandwidth affected. • A ccess by large numbers of Motion JPEG and/or unicast MPEG-4 clients.
58 AXIS 231D+/232D+ - Technical Specifications Frame rates - MPEG-4 The following test results show the frame rate s in frames/second (fps ) for MPEG-4 streams from the AXIS 231D+/232D+. Note that these va lues are guidelines on ly - actual values may vary.
59 AXIS 231D+/232D+ - Technical Specifica tions For MPEG-4, if there is only limited bandwidt h available, and if this is more important than the image quality, using a constant bit rate (CBR) is recommended. Use a variable bit rate (VBR) if the image quality needs to be maintained at a hi gher level.
