E-0 Please confirm that the f ollowing accessories are incl uded. The sound le v el at a gi ven v olume setti ng depends on speaker e fficiency , location and v arious other f actors . It is advisable to a v oid e xposure to high v olume le v els. Do not turn the volume on to full at switch on.
E-1 WARNINGS: ● When the ON/ S TAND-BY button is set at S TAND-BY position, mains voltage is st ill present inside the unit. When the ON/ S TAND-BY button is set at S TAND-BY position, the unit may be brought into operation by remote control. ● This unit contains no use r serviceable parts.
E-2 ● Use the unit on a firm, level surface free from vi bration. ● Keep the unit awa y from direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields, excessive d ust, humidity and electronic/electrical equipment (home compu ters, facsimiles, etc.) which gene rate electrical noise.
E-3 After chec king all th e connections ha v e been made correctly , plug the A C power lead of this unit into the wall sock et. If y ou plug in the unit first, the unit will enter the stand-by mod e. Note: Unplug the A C pow er lead from the wall soc ket if the unit will not be in use f or a prolonged period of time.
E-4 Press and hold do wn (X-BA SS )/EQ b utton, the unit will enter the e xtr a bass mode which emphasises the bass frequencies and “X-BA SS ” indicator will light up . T o cancel the e xtra bass mode , press and hold down (X-BA SS )/EQ b utton a gain.
E-5 By using the Direct S ea rch butt ons, th e desired tr acks on the current disc can be pla y ed. Use the Direct Search buttons on the remote control to select the desir ed track whilst playi ng the selected disc. ● The Direct S earch buttons allow you t o select up to number 9.
E-6 T o play back CD-R/RW . Note: If the trac k is skipped during pla yback, it means “Copyright protected WMA file” or “Not supported pla yback file” is selected.
E-7 Notes: ● When a disc is ejected, t he programme is auto matically cancelled . ● If you press the ON/ S TA ND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode or change the fu nction from CD to another, the progr ammed selections will be cleared. ● During the progr amme operation, ran dom play is not possible.
E-8 ● This product can play WMA and MP 3 files. It will automatically detect the file type bein g played. If unplayable file is pl ayed on this product, the fi le will be automatica lly skipped. This wil l take a few secon ds. If abnormal in dications appear on the display due to the unspecified file, turn off the unit and then turn it on again.
E-9 The stations sav ed in the memory can be scanned automatically . (Preset memor y scan) RDS is a broadcasting service which a growing number of FM stations provide. These FM stations send additional signals along with their regular programme signals.
E-10 If any of the following ev ents occur, it does not m ean that the unit is faulty: ● “P S ”, “NO P S ” and a station name appear alterna tely, and the unit does not operate proper ly. ● If a particular statio n is not broadcasting properly or a station is conducting tests, the RD S reception function may not work properly.
E-11 Timer playback: The unit turns on and plays t he desired source (CD , U S B, TUNER or A UDIO IN) at a preset time. Before setting timer: Note: This unit will turn on or enter th e powe r stand-by mode automatically . Howev er , the conne cted unit will not turn on or off.
E-12 To confirm the remaining sleep time: To cancel the sleep operation: Press the ON/ S T AND-BY button whilst “ S LEEP ” is indicated. T o cancel the sleep operatio n without setting the unit to the stand-b y mode, proceed as f ollo ws.

E-14 Caution: This operation will er ase all data stored in memory including cloc k, timer sett ings, t uner preset, and CD programme . Remove the U S B memory device and disc from the unit. Then, set the unit to th e power stand-by mode. Carrying the unit with th e U S B memor y device or disc left inside can d amage the unit.
