F ollow the step s below to listen to your messages. 1 Press . • If you only w ant to listen to new messages (messages not pre viously listened to), con tinue to hold do wn for at least two seconds .

Optional Ans wering System Settings 41 2. Ans wering Machine CPC Detection When a caller hangs up, the central telephone ex chang e issues a CPC (Calling P ar ty Control) si gnal. When the ans w ering system detects this signal, it stops recording so that peri ods of silence are no t recorded.
Transfer F unction 42 T ransfer Function The T ransfer function is used to hav e the machine automatically call you at a specified number ev er y time it receives an incoming message. This lets you hear your messages immediately after the y come in, ev en when you are at a remote l ocation.
T ransfer Function 43 2. Ans wering Machine Recording the transf er message The transf er message plays when y ou answer the telephone, and inf orms you that the call is a transf er call. It can be up to 15 seconds long. T o record a transf er message, f ollow the steps below .

This is convenient when s ending to destinations where the line is often busy , as it save s you from waiting to pic k up the or iginal document and frees the feeder fo r other o perations.
