9 ACCESSING THE WEB SERVER IN THE MACHINE When the machine is conn ected to a network, the machine's built-in W eb serv er can be a ccessed f rom a We b browse r on your c omputer.
10 CHECKING THE IP ADDRESS To ch eck the IP addres s of the ma chine, pr int out th e all custom s etting li st in the system s ettin gs. 1 Pres s the [SYS TEM SET TINGS] key. 2 Select the al l custom setting list in the t ouch panel. (1) Touch the [List Print (User)] key.

17 OPERATION PANEL LOGOUT Main power indicator [CLEAR ALL] key Press this ke y to redo an operation from the b eginning. All settings w ill b e cleared and operation w ill ret u rn to the initial state. [ST OP] key Press this ke y to stop a cop y jo b or scanning of an original.
18 TURNING THE POWER ON AND OFF The ma chine has two power switche s. The main power sw itch is at th e lower left after the f ront cover is open ed. The other p ower swit ch is the [POWER] k ey ( ) on the o peration pan el at th e top right.
19 PLACING ORIGINALS The autom atic docu ment feed er can be use d to automatic ally scan ma ny origin als at once. This saves you the trouble of manu ally feedin g each origina l. For ori ginals that canno t be scan ned using the automa tic docu ment feeder , such as a book or a d ocument wi th notes attached , use the d ocument g lass.
20 PLACING ORIGINALS USEABLE PAPER Various types of paper are s old. This se ction explains w hat pla in paper and what spec ial medi a can be u sed with the machin e.
21 PLACING ORIGINALS Print side fa ce up or face down Paper is loade d with the p rint side face up or fac e down dep ending on the pape r type and tr ay. Trays 1 t o 4 Load the paper with the prin t side face u p. However , if the pap er type is "Letter Head" or "P re-Printed" , load the paper wit h the print s ide face down*.

24 LOADING PAPER IN A TRAY Loading paper in other trays Bypass tray Place paper that is A5 (7-1/4" x 10-1/2") or smaller in the horizontal orientation. Only the address side of en velopes can be printed on. Place en velopes with the address side face down.
25 LOADING PAPER IN A TRAY Large capacity tray The pa per size o f tray 5 can only be cha nged by a service technician . Gently pull out the paper tra y . Insert the paper with the print side face down. Fan the paper well bef ore inserting it. Otherwise, multiple sheets ma y feed at once and cause a misfeed.

35 MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE BYPASS FEED ROLLER If paper misfeeds frequently occur whe n feeding enve lopes or heav y paper throug h the bypa ss tray, wipe the surfac e of the fee d roller w ith a clean s oft cloth moiste ned with wate r or a n eutral deterge nt.
36 MAINTENANCE REPLA CING TH E TONER CARTRIDGE S Be sure t o replace th e toner c artridge wh en the messa ge "Chang e the ton er cartridg e." appears . In copy mode OK Change the toner cartridge. Ready to scan for copy. (Toner supply is low.
37 MAINTENANCE 1 Open the front cover. 2 Pull the toner cartridge toward you. Gently pull the toner cartridge horizonta lly toward yo u. When pul ling out the toner c artridge, pull it out gen tly. If the cartridge is pull ed out abru ptly, tone r may spill out.
38 MAINTENANCE 6 Close the front cover. After th e toner ca rtridge is replaced, the mach ine automati cally ente rs imag e ad justm ent mo de. Caution • Do not throw a t oner cartridge int o a fire. Toner m ay fly and cause burns. • Store toner c artridges o ut of the re ach of small children.
39 MAINTENANCE REPL ACING THE TONE R COLLE CTION CONT AINE R The ton er collect ion contai ner colle cts exces s toner that i s produced d uring prin ting. When the toner c ollection container becomes full, " Replace u sed toner c ontainer." w ill appea r.
40 MAINTENANCE 5 Plug the hole in the tone r collection container with the cap. Push the cap in fi rmly so that toner will n ot leak o ut. Do not discard t he ton er collec tion con tainer. Pl ace it in a p lastic ba g and k eep it until y our serv ice techn ician c omes t o perform ma intena nce.
41 MAINTENANCE REPLA CING TH E STAMP CARTRIDGE If a stam p unit (A R-SU1) is installed on the a utomatic d ocument f eeder and the stamp has beco me faint, rep lace the stamp c artridge (A R-SV1). Supplie s Stamp c artridge (2 i n packa ge) AR-SV1 1 Open the automatic doc ument feeder.
42 MAINTENANCE 5 Install a new stamp ca rtridge. 6 Push the stamp unit bac k in. Push the s tamp u nit in until it cl icks into place . 7 Replace the original pre ssure sheet. Push the holders i n until th ey clic k into pla ce. 8 Close the automatic doc ument feeder.
43 REMOVING MISFEEDS When a p aper mis feed occur s, the me ssage "A m isfeed ha s occurr ed." will ap pear in t he touch p anel and pri nting and scanning will stop. In thi s event, touch the [Informatio n] key in the tou ch panel. Wh en the key is touc hed, instruct ions for remov ing the misfe ed will a ppear.
