Copy Protection This Unit supports Macrovision copy protection. On DVD discs that include a copy protection code, if the contents of the DVD disc are copied using a VCR, the copy protection code prevents the videotape copy from playing normally .

– 6– EN Disc T ypes [D VD] Data on a D VD is divided into sections called "titles", and then into subsections called "chapters", each of which is given a title or chapter number . Playback condi- tions are preset on some D VD video discs, and these pla yback conditions tak e priority over user operations on this pla y- er .

– 8 – EN 1. Open the batter y compar tment cov er . 2. Inser t two AA batteries, with each one oriented correctly . 3. Close the cover . NO TES: • Do not mix alkaline and manganese batteries.
– 9 – EN HOOK UPS NO TES: • Connect the D VD pla y er directly to a TV . If the Audio/Video cab les are connected to a VCR, pictures may be distorted due to the copy protection system. • Be sure to turn off the power to all components in the system before connecting another component.
– 10 – EN During playbac k, press P A USE . • Playback will pause and sound will be muted. The disc goes forw ard by one frame each time P A USE is pressed. T o exit step b y step playbac k, press PLA Y . NO TE: • Set STILL MODE to FIELD on the Displa y menu if pictures during step by step pla yback are blurred.
– 11 – EN During playbac k, press FWD g or REV h repeatedly to select the required forw ard or rev erse speed. • For D VDs , fast f orward or re v erse speed is different depending on the disc. Approximate speed is 1 (x2), 2(x8), 3 (x50), and 4 (x100).
– 12 – EN Y ou ma y deter mine the order in which trac ks will play . Press MODE (playbac k must first be stopped). • The PROGRAM screen appears. Press ▲ or ▼ to select a track, then press ENTER . • Press CLEAR to erase the most recently entered program.
– 13 – EN PLA YING A DISC When a CD with MP3 files is inser ted in the D VD pla y er and MENU is pressed, the FILE LIST will appear on the display . The number of trac ks is also display ed on the front panel. Press K or L to select the desired group (f older) or track.
If you are pla ying a D VD-RW with setting the PLA YLIST , the follo wing will also be displa yed. ORG: Playing the ORIGINAL. PL: Playing the PLA YLIST . Press DISPLA Y again to remove the displa y . Press DISPLA Y dur ing playbac k, the current T rack will be display ed on the TV screen.
– 15 – EN Adjust the Black Le vel Settings to mak e the blac k par ts of the picture as bright as you pref er . During playbac k, press MODE repeatedly until the Black Le ve l Setting screen appears. Press ENTER to switch ON/OFF . ON : Makes the dark par ts brighter.
– 16 – EN Language options are not av ailable with some discs . Press SETUP in ST OP mode. Press s or B to select (CUST OM), then press ENTER . • On screen menu will appear. Press s or B to select (LAN- GU AGE), then press ENTER to confirm. Press K or L to select the below items, then press ENTER .
