Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 15 Setting up Before connecting this printer to a computer and power supply, the toner cartrid ges must be installe d and paper inserte d in the paper tray. P ackaging and Protective Sheet Removal 1. Remove any adhesive tape an d packaging from the printer .

Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 17 4. Remove the four image drums a nd place them on a level su rface. CAUTION! • Never expose image dru ms to light for more than 5 minutes. • Always hold image drum by the ends . • Never expose image dru ms to direct sunlight.

Replace the four image drums into the printer making sure each image drum is inst alled in its correct color location. 7. Push the tab (1) inwa rds and remove the blanking plate from each of the image drums.
Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 19 T oner Cartridge Installation 1. Remove the black toner cartr idge from the p ackage. 2. Shake the toner cartr idge back and forth seve ral times then, holding it horizontally , remove the tape. W ARNING! T ake e xtreme care when handling toner .
Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 20 3. Remove the locking piece from behin d the colored toner release lever . 4. Insert the toner cart ridge into the b lack image drum, lef t side fir st, engaging the drum locating peg in the hole in the toner car tridge.
Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 21 5. Gently push the toner cartridge down engaging the locking pin into the groove on the image dr um. 6. Gently push the colored lever toward the rear of the machine until it stops. This releases the to ner into the image drum.

Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 24 2. Adjust the pap er guides and rear stopper fo r the size of paper being used. CAUTION! T o prevent paper jams • Don’t leave sp a ce between the p aper and the p aper guides and rear stopper . • Don’t overfill the p aper tray .

Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 26 4. For face down printing, make sure the r ear paper ex it is closed (the paper exit s from the top of the prin ter). Paper is stacked in printed order and the paper tr ay capacity is appr oximately 500 sheets, d epending on p aper weight.

Load the m edia face up , and adjust the paper gu ides to the size of the med ia being used. NO TE • Don’t exceed the Paper Full line (a bout 100 sheet s depending on p aper weight, 50 tr ansp arencies or 10 envelopes) .
Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 28 P ower Connection 1. Connect the power cable (1) into the power socke t on the printer , then into a grounded powe r supply outlet. 2. Switch the printer ON using the main power switch (2). The printer will go through its init ialization and wa rm up sequence.
Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 29 Control Panel 1. Attention i ndicator ( red) . ON indicates that attention is required, but printing will continue . FLA SHING indicates that attention is required, but printing will stop . 2. Ready indi cator (gree n) .

Press the ONLINE but ton to put the printer offline. 2. Press the MENU button re peatedly until SYST EM CONFIG MENU is displayed.

Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 46 ADJUST DENSITY Execute If EXECUTE is selected, the printer will immediately adjust density and reflect it in the TRC compensation. Density adjustment must be executed when the printer is idle. It may become invalid if executed in any other state.
Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 47 CYAN REGISTRATION - FINE ADJUST 0 +1+2+3- 3-2-1 Fin e Adjust makes an adjustment to image registration in Cyan , Magenta or Y ellow against Black in the horizontal direction. The adjustment is reflected as an offset (addition) value to the corrections through Auto color Registration Correction.

Sharp AR-C200P: Setting up • 68 Setting Color T uning from the F ront P anel You can use the printer’s menu to adjust the color intensity for a specific color by adjusting the HIGHLIGHT, MID-TONE and DARK (shadows) C olor Tun ing Patter ns. • To increase the color intensity , use a higher positive setting (default = 0, maximum = +3).

There are many factors involved in achie ving accurate and reproducible color.
Sharp AR-C200P: Macintosh OS 8.6-9.2.2 Oper ation • 83 RGB or CMYK If you are printing photographic images from a graphics a pplication such as Adobe Photoshop, you may be able to use Soft-Proofing to simulate the printed image on your monitor.
