C 5.4 Prefetch/multi-segmented cache control The drive provides a prefetch (read look-ahe ad) and mu lti-segmente d cache control algorithms that in ma ny cases can enhance system performance . Cache refers to the drive buf fer storage space when it is used i n cache operations.
