3 PERS ON A L PRECAU TI ON S 2. Risk of explosive gases. Working in the vicinity of a lead-acid battery is dangerous. Batteries generate 2.1 explosive gases during normal battery operation. For this reason, it is of utmost importance that you follow the instructions each time you use the charger .
4 If battery acid contacts your skin or clothing, immediately wash the area with 3.4 soapandwater .Ifacidentersyoureye,immediatelyoodtheeyewithcold running water for at least 10 minutes and get medical attention right away .
5 DC CO NN ECT I ON PR ECAUT IO NS 5. Connect and disconnect the DC output clips only after removing the AC plug 5.1 from the electrical outlet. Never allow the clips to touch each other . Attach the clips to the battery and chassis, as indicated in sections 6 and 7.
6 FOLLO W TH ESE S TE PS WH E N BA T TE RY IS O UT SI D E VE HI CL E 7. A spark near the battery may cause a battery explosion. T o reduce the risk of a spark near the battery: Check the polarity of the battery posts. The POSITIVE (POS, P , +) battery 7.
7 NOTE : Pursuant to Canadian Regulations, use of an adapter plug is not allowed in Canada. Use of an adapter plug in the United States is not recommended. Recommended minimum A WG size for extension cord: 8.3 100 feet long or less - use an 18 gauge extension cord.
8 CON TRO L PANEL 1 1. LED Indicators AC POWER (red) LED lit: Indicates that there is AC power supplied to the battery charger . CONNECTED (red) LED lit: Indicates that the charger is properly connected to the battery . CHARGING (yellow) LED lit: Indicates the charger has detected a battery and is charging it.
9 NOTE: This charger is equipped with an auto-start feature. It will not supply current to the battery clips until a battery is properly connected and the CONNECTED LED is lit. Unlike traditional chargers, the clips will not spark if touched together .
10 Maintain Mode When the CHARGED LED is lit, the charger has started Maintain Mode. In this mode, the charger keeps the battery fully charged by delivering a small current when necessary .
11 MA I NTE N AN CE I NST RUC TI ON S 14. Before performing maintenance, unplug and disconnect the battery charger 14.1 (see Sections 6, 7 and 8). After use, unplug the charger and use a dry cloth to wipe all battery corrosion 14.2 and other dirt or oil from the terminals, cords, and the charger case.
12 TROU BLES HOOT IN G 16. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REASON/SOLUTION Charger will not turn on when properly connected. AC outlet is dead. AC POWER LED is not lit. Poor electrical connection. AC POWER LED is not lit. Severely discharged, but otherwise good, battery .

25 Carga anulada Si no se puede completar la carga normalmente, la carga se anulará. Cuando se anule la carga, la salida del cargador se apagará y se ilumina el LED CARGANDO . Para reiniciar después de que se anula la carga puede desconectar la batería o desenchufar el cargador .
