5 Saf ety Instr uctions All the saf ety and operating instructions should be read before the product is operated. Read all of the instructions given here and ret ain them for later use. Unplug this projector from A C pow er supply before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
6 Saf ety Instr uctions Mo ving the Project or When the projector is not in use for an extended period, put it into a suitable case. Handle the projector carefully; do not drop, bump, subject it to strong forces, or put other things on the cabinet. Openings in the cabinet are pro vided for ventilation.
7 Do not roll the projector more than 1 0 degrees from side to side. Do not put the projector on either side C or E to project an image. Install the projector properly .
8 Compliance AC P ow er Cord for the Unit ed Kingdom: This cord is already fit ted with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of whic h is indicated on the pin face of the plug . Should the fuse need to be replaced, an A ST A approv ed BS 1 362 fuse must be used of the same rating , marked thus AS A .

NO TE ON THE PO WER CORD A C pow er cord must meet the requirements of the countr y where y ou use the projector . Confirm the A C plug type with the c hart below and proper A C po wer cord must be used. If the supplied A C pow er cord does not matc h your A C outlet, cont act your sales dealer .
Connect the projector’ s A C power cord into an A C outlet. T he PO WER indicator t urns red. Press the ON/S T AND-B Y but ton on the top control or on the remote control. T he PO WER indicator becomes green and the cooling fans start to operate. T he preparation display appears on the screen and the count down starts.

51 Set ting Remote contr ol This projector pro vides two dif ferent remote control codes; the factory-set, initial code (Code 1) and the secondar y code (Code 2). T his switc hing function prev ents remote control interf erence when sev eral projectors or video equipment are operated at the same time.
52 52 Set ting PIN code lock This function pre vents the projector from being operated by unauthoriz ed persons and provides the f ollowing set ting options for security . 53 53 Set ting The PIN code can be c hanged to your desired f our -digit number . Select "PIN code c hange" with the P oint d but ton, and press the SELECT but ton to display the New PIN code input dialog box. Select a number by pressing the P oint ed but tons.
54 Set ting Lamp counter F actory def ault This function returns all set ting values ex cept for the user logo, PIN code loc k, Logo PIN code loc k, the lamp counter , and the filter counter to the factory default set tings. Select Factory default and this box appears.
55 Ho w to Use the Antitheft Alar m Function Antithef t alarm function is provided to prevent the projector from be ing stolen. When this function is set to “ On, ” the alarm rings as an unauthorized person tries to mo ve the projector . T o activate the Alarm function for the first time af ter purc hase, you must t urn on the pow er once.

57 Charge the built-in batteries Set the B at ter y c harge option in the Alarm set ting menu to “ Auto. ” The def ault set ting is “ Auto. ” As long as the A C pow er cord is connected and this option is set to “ A uto, ” the built-in bat ter y for Alarm function is being c harged at all times.

T urn ov er the projector and remov e the air filter by pulling the latc hes upward. 1 2 The air filter pre vents dust from accumulating on the surf ace of the optical elements inside the projector .
CA UTION This projector is equipped with a projection windo w . Do not rub the projection windo w with a hard fiber cloth or hit it with a something hard to prevent the projection window from scratc hing. Do not use a c hemical cleaner (liquid and solid) to av oid deteriorating the projection window .
62 Maint enance and Cleaning When the projection lamp of the projector reac hes its end of lif e, the Lamp replacement icon appears on the screen and LAMP REPLA CE indicator lights yellow . R eplace the lamp with a new one promptly . The timing when the LAMP REPLA CE indicator should light is depending on the lamp mode.
Maint enance and Cleaning Be sure to reset the Lamp replacement counter af ter the lamp is replaced. When the Lamp replacement counter is reset, the LAMP REPLA CE indicator stops lighting . T urn the projector on and press the MENU but ton to display the On-Screen Menu.
64 T r oubleshooting Bef ore calling your dealer or service center for assistance, c hec k the items below once again. – Make sure y ou hav e properly connected the projector to peripheral equipment as described on pages 1 6-1 8. – Make sure all equipment is connected to the A C outlet and the power is t urned on.
